Yes. Do you know how forceful a collision is even at 25mph?

If I had airbags all around me, maybe I'd feel much better about taking my seatbelt off. Some new cars have airbags everywhere, but even then seatbelts keep you stuck in your seat if your car rolls or flips.

Wearing your seatbelt is a law in most states.

Although I do not believe it is fair for the law to compel citizens to wear them, both common sense, as well as research shows that seat belts are more likely to save your life than contribute to its loss.

A good example is crashing a bridge and going under water. With seat belt, you are more likely to be uninjured to the degree that you are able to remove it and escape the car. Without a seatbelt, your injuries may be so severe you are unconscious and drown.

I have been fined 3 times for not wearing them as is the law in my province that they must be worn. When I was younger there was no such law and I do feel uncomfortable with them as have a bad back. But was in an accident a little over a month ago and since then have been wearing it pretty steadily.

No. I don't have to.

"If I had airbags all around me, I'd feel safer..........."

THAT'S why so many people drive like they can't get hurt, or hurt others. Wrap youself up in bubble wrap so you don't have to even think about it. Heaven forbid you should worry about the consequences of your actions.

It's the law to buckle up and what if the driver (if you're the passenger) gets into an accident. You don't want to die, do you?
