The only way you are ever going to really experience driving is to just do it. It's true that alot of people get hurt behind the wheel of a car and more likely than not you know someone's how gotten hurt. But a lot of this can be prevented by simply studying hard and making sure you are the best possible driver you can be when you hit the road. Plus with new safety features the car is becoming safer everyday. If this is something you really want you need to go for it. Nothing is going to happen to you while you take the test and if you decide its not for you then you don't have to use your lisence. But at the very least you can say you got it and that you tried.

i cant offer any advice but i can offer plenty of understanding. i am in exactly the same situation as you. i am 27 next month, and i still cant drive. i know that it would give me a lot of freedom, but i am finding it really hard to get the confidence and motivation to go learn. i am terrified of the responsibilities which come with driving, and just feel that i might make a wrong decision and hurt someone. or worse.
so, although i cannot help you, i hope that knowing you are not the only person who feels like this might help you out and help you put a bit more perspective on this - i know reading your question has certainly helped me.
good luck. i'm sure that your responsible attitude will certainly make you a safe, sensible and successful driver. let me know when you start learning, and i'll get my lessons booked as well - hows that for an incentive? ;-)

If you are VERY scared of driving, you may need counseling in order to boost you confidence in driving skills. In the meantime, I would ask someone to let you drive on some private roads slowly. Don't go on state owed roads! Also read up on your book for testing. Its usually not as bad as you think it will be. I have confidence in you' PS- Let me know when you do start driving so I can get off the roads, lol "Kidding' Good luck, Ken

go for it girl! unless you live in a climate where winter is approaching, then hold off until spring, take a defencive driving course and get an older car with new brakes for your first ride. don't stay a passenger, you may get linked up with some guy that has control issues,or just end up going places you would rather not, who knows if we're going to be able to afford to drive in 30 years ?

It's just building up confidence. Take a driving school and they build up your confidence. Don't be left behind, some younger girls are already good in driving. Just Think of this... you are in case of emergency, your friend or your love ones needs to go to hospital and no one knows how to drive.. so, you don't have a choice but to drive them to hospital..
Cmmon girl,, you can do it! Good luck and always take care in highways. Hey! prayer is still the best choice to build up confidence.

Go already. Experience true freedom!! And trust me you might make a better driver than 90% of drivers already out here. Especially the ones who think they are perfect drivers.
