im from IL and our secretary of state (Jesse White) wants to pass tougher laws for teenage drivers because of our high rate of driving deaths..well i wonder why SINCE ON ILLINOIS DRIVING TEST U CAN GET UP TO 7 ANSWERS WRONG..i think maybe if they toughened the test up with not being able to get ANY wrong..MAYBE OUR STREETS CAN BE SAFER..after all i passed without any wrong and the driver next to me got the same license and missed SIX QUESTIONS!!! GO FIGURE...what do u guys think?????

hi, im going to get my first car pretty soon and its a stick. now from what ive read on the internet, you have more control over the car than in an automatic. now, my mother wants me to learn to drive her automatic before i learn to drive stick because theres less things to do while im on the road, but i feel that if i were to have a manual i would be more focused on driving and not have my arm resting on the window just chillin'. if anyone can give me a whole bunch of reasons as to why a manual is better then i might have a chance of getting my car earlier, plus ill have more knowledge to go along with my manual experience which will help me in the future. thanks for all your help.

I`ve recently passed by written test for drivers ed and I have just validated my beginners license. However, I am going to have in-car lessons tomorrow and I'm extremely nervous. My mom is too scared to teach me to drive, and I wouldn't feel comfortable having my other family members teach me, haha. Also, I have never even touched a gas pedal in my life, and it sucks because my friends have a huge advantage since their parents already had them drive long distances!

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for beginner drivers like myself? Any helpful knowledge you'd like to share with me will be greatly appreciated. Thaaaaaaanks.

I have a car I do not use; and I want to give it to my mom without changing ownership. She cannot own a car for financial reason. My question is if she crashes or is involve in an accident and she does to buys insurance, how is liable? Is she liable because she was driving? Or Am I liable because I am the owner.

We live in Texas (different cities), if that helps.

The research has been done to prove that talking on a cell phone while driving is comparable to driving drunk. You have tunnel vision, because your engaging in a conversation and not giving your full attention to driving safely. I just dont get how or why people think they have the right to endanger everyone around them. I've even resorted to yelling at drivers who are clearly not paying attention, "Hey, Idiot! You're driving a CAR, not a PHONE BOOTH"

My 98 Explorer has a glitch where the light that indicates the parking brake is on only works sometime. As a result, I didn't realize I had the parking brake on until I'd drove about seven miles. Will this cause any damage to the car?

If the safety nazis really wanted to stop speeding, tailgating, running red ligts, not stopping at stop signs, etc etc....wouldn't it be better to make the fine $1000 and not $100? Second offense would be minimum $2000 dollars and 30 days in jail mandatory. Would you be so inclined to speed then?

Quite often these drivers are not even going as fast as those drivers that use the nearside lane, resulting in a dilemma. Undertake, or try and manoeuvre across and behind to overtake correctly. Answers from culprits would be an advantage.
