I have an interview with a company that specializes in high performance auto heads. I have a little bit of knowledge-but need to know quite a bit more.
Is there someone out there who could explain the function and the importance of these in layman terms?

I'm planning on having a trustworthy person drive my car and some of my stuff across the country (I don't have the time to make the trip myself)--what kinds of things should I do to make sure that things go right? I'm planning on getting a copy of the person's driver's license, but if the person hits someone else with my car, could I be held liable? What if the person gets a speeding or parking ticket along the way and doesn't pay it, will I be held liable? Is there anything else that I should be wary of? Thanks.

Hi, I have a few questions about cars:

1. I just recently changed the started in my 96 chevy cavalier automatic (3-speed) and it cost me 140 for the thing and 40 for the labor, I'm wondering if the price made sense or not.

2. Is it possible to change my all-manual windows to power windows (96 cavalier still)? so I can also install the car alarm. If yes, how much is reasonable and where can I get them done?

3. I have the same question as 2 about cruise control of the same car, where can I get it done? And how much money is reasonable?

4. Carfax charge people 25 bucks to get informations about a car and I think that is a lot of money, so I'm wondering if anybody knows a better site or way to check the background of an used car.

5. Where can I get my windows tinted and how much is reasonable?

6. Where can I get a thing to make my cupholders bigger (a cup holder which has a bottom that fits the car's holder but has a bigger and taller top to hold large sodas and etc).

A car is in production that runs on AIR, not petrol, deisel or electric. It does 65mph, has a range of 200+ miles and can be "refuelled" for a quid. It will cost about £8000 and is the size of a Smart car. Why havn't we heard more about it and would you buy one? No pollution AT ALL !!!!!!!!!

in an automatic transmission does the transmission always switch gears at the same rpm? for instance will the transmission switch gears at a higher rpm if you accelerate very quickly or will it always switch gears at say 2500rpm or 3000rpm no matter what?

I did a research project a few weeks ago and I went to a Mercedes dealer. I asked how a Mercedes would compare with a Lexus. The saleslady told me that Mercedes is more prestigious and that it is the safest car in the world. She says a Lexus is just a Toyota. I knew she was telling me all kinds of lies. I said that even a Toyota Camry has a five star crash safety rating and that the E and C-Class only recieved a four star crash safety rating (according to National Highway Traffic Safety Admin). She says that you couldn't compare a Camry with a Mercedes. Then I asked, "Well, wouldn't you expect a Mercedes that costs 3 times as much to be safer than a Toyota?" She then went on about how hardly anyone has died in a Mercedes before, except for Princess Diana. I know Japanese cars have a stereotype of being light and unsafe, but facts today don't seem to support that claim. Any impressions or comments? when im bored and have nothing to do I goto car dealerships and look at all the car selections. Sometimes I goto Porsche and Mercedes dealers and bentley and lambo dealers. Sometimes the guys there will let me ride with them on there daily maintenance runs.

But how would I go about telling someone at a Honda/Acura dealer that I just want to test drive one and have no interest in buying? Will they let me test drive one if I have no interest in buying? Afterall it wastes there time and money.

who has the right away at say a stop sign, an ambulance or a federal postal truck?

does the emergency vehicle have it because of the emergency ie: flashing lights.....
or does the postal vehicle because it is a federal vehicle and not a local?
