How long are the red, yellow, and green lights set for at traffic signal lights?
They vary from signal to signal and also based on the day of the week and the time of the day. You will wait longer at a red light during rush hour traffic than you would wait at the same light during lighter traffic times. The times are computed by traffic engineers based on collected data from the intersection/street they control. The object being to get the best traffic flow possible.

Nope, not even close. Some are timed, some are based on the traffic, lots of traffic, longer yellow, no traffic shorter yellow. Again, not all signals are based on traffic, some are simply timed.
But to the point, No. Not all traffic signals are the same lenght, no matter what color the light.

No, they dont.
They are programmed by the city depending upon the traffic habits of the intersection.
The majority of yellow lights are 4 seconds long. They will extend that length for high traffic areas, or shorten it for lighter traffic.

Definitely not.. one of the little tricks cops can use to give out tickets. Our area had one downtown that went from about 5 seconds down to 1.8 seconds and the newpaper was full of tickets... until enough people started fighting it and raising a fuss... then it was changed back to normal... but the money was made.

with in the city they do but difrent cities have diffrent lenghts for there yellows
