I found gaskets for my bike but they're so expensive. Also, I really want to get back on the trails asap, meaning I don't want to wait a week for them to ship me a gasket set. Can I just use an RTV High temp gasket sealant on my clutch cover or is that a bad idea? I used that sealant on my truck's intake manifold and it sealed fine, and from what I understand many people do this. I was just wondering if the same could apply for my two stroke engine.

The manual calls for SAE 30 oil. Can I use regular SAE 30 engine oil like for a car or does it have to be SAE 30 transmission oil. Keep in mind this is a two stroke. Experience with this would be very helpful, I don't want to screw this thing up.

This is something i read- 'Giving evidence to the committee, transport author Stephen Plowden said he could not see why anyone needed a bike with a top speed of more than 65 mph.'
Dont know about you but this idiot should crawl back under the grey rock he crawled under with his grey pipe and slippers.
It's not so much the top speeds that kill, it's the pwer of some modern bikes. I personaly don't like these 'plastic rockits', but each to their own. Some bikers are dangerous but i tell you, it's the cars we have to watch out for!

I want to paint my exhaust in a flat or textured black color to match the bike's engine. People recommended ceramic coating but it is expencive and I will have to remove the pipes from the bike. Is there a paint that I could apply that would withstand the great heat of the pipes? The Harley-Havidson store told me that their paint that I used for the bike's engine would probably crack if I apply it to the exhaust...

It's not burning the gas. It's flowing in the intake and coming out the exhaust, some dripping, and smelling just like regular gas.

We lost our 3-wheeler key and I'm not sure what to do next. We could replace the ignition but I'm wondering if I call the dealership with the serial number if they would be able to make a key for me? It's a 1986 Honda Big Red.

I bought a used motorcycle a few months back and it now needs some fluid. The fluid is yellow-ish brown so it needs to be bled. Problem: Manual says it uses DOT 4, previous owner thinks he put in DOT 5. I've heard mixing the two can cause some serious sludge problems. How can I bleed the system if I don't know what type is currently in the bike?

The manual says between 10mm and 15mm slack is called for. I think I had the cable misadjusted previously, because I have been having problems getting into neutral when the bike is stopped in gear, and also the bike sometimes "creeps" forward when the clutch is pulled in.

What I'm noticing is that the lever free play changes when you move the handlebars. For example I am at 10mm at lock left, and 15mm at lock right with the bike cold. big difference! Doesn't the freeplay also get larger when the bike is warm?

So, does it sound like I have the lever adjusted properly?

you can kick the motor over and the kickstart won't come back up on it's own you have to pull it back up with your hand what could be wrong? is their a spring on the internal part under the cover on the right side of the motor or is it external? but it looks to me like something has broke because if i look from the opposite side from the kicker i can see the shaft from the kicker!

Ive had this bike for 1 week now. Up until today it started right up. I left it outside today and it rained a bit. My guess is the rain got in the exhaust because when i did get it to start up it backfired or would just idle at a low 500 rpms. Any ideas?
