I keep a battery tender hooked up to my motorcycle when not riding, with the asumption that it prolongs the life of the battery.

I realize the Ninja is the standard entry bike, and the Zongshen does not quite measure up performance wise, topping out at 80 mph. However, I probably don't need to go over 80 mph...and the Zongshen, IMO, looks better.

Therefore, does anyone have any experience with this bike, or company? Supposedly they are a legit chinese company using ISO standards, unlike some of the fly by night chinese companies... But I'd rather not be the person to drop 2 g's and realize they suck. lol

Thanks!

The bike is a Ninja 1989 ZX750R. It is heavy, I am afraid I will drop it if I try?

The battery is full, the bike starts right up, runs great. Hi Beam works, I put it on now and run it that way at night, looks like normal light. Without hi beam, the light is quite dim (does not project). What gives? Bike is 1989 ZX750R.

Well I'm looking to buy a new cruiser, but not sure what brand to go with. I like Harleys because they're American made bikes but everyone says they're junk. Looking for fuel injected. Atleast 1500cc.....

i am 15. my birthday is in june, and i want to learn to ride a motorcycle. i have a car already, but i find myself drawn to riding a motorcycle. i have never even touched one before, but i have read some beginner riders books. i want to take the MSF training class, but i dont know if it is a good idea at my age. i know that they are dangerous, but i want to get a small bike, first. i have heard really good things about the kawasaki ninja 250, but that is a sports bike. the insurance company that i have with my car wont even insure it because it is a ninja. what insurance company will? i heard it was a good beginners bike, is that true? what else can i do to be as safe as possible while learning to ride?

Thanks to the answerers here, my 1985 Virago 700 is running again. But, it doesn't charge its battery when running. To charge the battery, the voltage needs to be 12.5 volts or more. If I yank out all the fuses except the ignition fuse, it'll get that 12.5. Adding back the headlight and tail light drops it down to 11.7. What tests can I perform on my alternator (and I know nothing about this, so please, give details)? Should I open it up to look at the stator (whatever that is), and if so, how do I open it up? I have a digital multimeter. If I have to replace the stator, would a stator from a 1986 Virago fit into my 1985 motorcycle? Any other suggestions (and please don't say 'replace the whole bike with a Harley 883')?

Does someone make aftermarket pegs and shifter for the Ninja 500, so I don't have to bend my legs backward to reach those things when I am leaning forward to grab the handlebars?

I have ridden many bikes and I just bought this brand new Vulcan. I love the bike, the only problem is, it is a new model so there are little to no accessories out there yet. Does anyone know a good reliable place to find these, or even a forum for this bike? Any help will be appreciated.

going to get my provisional soon, wondering about a good first bike to buy. Hvae seen 2 I like, aprillia rs125 and honda cbr125r. They both seem good, but I am not sure what to get. the only gripes I have about each is: the cbr125's mirrors, they look like theyre on big sticks, and how the rs125 is said to be like really out of control. could anyone give advice which one to have?

Also, I've heard that some 125s sound like mopeds. are these two any of them that sound that way? or do they sound like a proper engine?

Thanks.

Rice burner riders are calling themselves 'Metrics' now. But I am wondering, do Harley's still use Imperial threads? I know the older bikes do. I am wondering about newer ones (last 10years or so).

Many Chevies and Fords use metric now, so I am wondering if the same is true for Harleys. Are all the fasteners all Imperial or is there a mixture? Or could they possibly be all metric?
Please answer only if you have a newer Harley.
