I have 76 honda cj360 with 16000 on it.
I've just cleaned rebuild the carb.
When i put it in 1st gear, I rev it up to 3-4000 RPM when ease the clutch. VERY SLOWLY!! and it still sputter and Kills the engine.
I have to rev up like 5000-6000 RPM to to go first gear...
It happens in 2nd and 3rd gear too, if i even get there before engine kills.
I feels like it lost some power.
This happened before carb clean. and that;s why i rebuild the carb, but it did NOT help....
So let me make this clear...
It idles fine but when i put it in ANY gear, I have to REV it up really high or the RPM drops and kills the engine.
If I pull the clutch right before the engine kill, It revs up again.
but then when in gear(when riding)I pull a full trottle and it feels like it lost some power.

Thank you

The part I am looking for is actually "inside the carbeaurator."
It is a u shaped rod. My mechanic took it apart and has lost this piece. I am trying to prevent having to purchase a $700 carbeaurator. The diagrams on internet do not list this part.

For my upcoming trip to Norway I am lucky enough to have a choice of two bikes!
My Cagiva River 500 which I am most comfortable on and have done over 25000 miles on.
My dad's Yamaha XJ900F which is bigger and supposedly better for touring.
I really love my Cagiva and I have two months experience on the XJ in all kinds of weather condidtions which makes me confident riding it!
A REAL DILEMA. Any inspiring words welcome>

Actually I have 2 bikes on mind one is Passion and the other is the Unicorn. And Im much inclined towards Unicron because it being a heavy bike will be better I think. But unlike Passion it is not yet known that in the future when the Unicorn's engine will wear out, will the repair and the spares will be as easily available as the Passion or not? Otherwise I will look forward buying only the Passion. What say??? Please advice me between these 2 bikes only.

I always believed that the majority of car-on-bike accidents were caused by the driver of the car.But by the questions being asked I'm really starting to wonder if it's just plain ignorance by some of these so called riders.Anyone else starting to wonder too?

It is not completely rusted, but definitely has rust in it. I drained my float bowls, brand new gas I put into it is tea colored when I drain it out. I have an inline fuel filter in it. I just had the carbs redone, I am about to run them again. Is the tea colored gas something to be concerned about? I do not see any particles in it.
