The Buell blast is a small and light ,yet surprisingly quick bike .Take one for a test ride you'll like it.

Ok to start if you get anywhere near a 1000 or 600 you will die. I have been riding bikes for years and know many people who die and a common method of assisted suicide is getting a beginner male or female a full race bike. So please steer way from those for now. There are some female riders who are exceptional but most have a hard time and even the ones who claim to be good seem really unsure on the bike so start slow. I would recommend A Ninja 250 as a starter bike for anyone. If you want to go bigger get the SV650 and you can buy a fairing kit. The SV650 is a fantastic bike and good enough to get respect on the track. It also has a great look with the fairing kit. In addition it does not have the super fast power of a 1000R. Another suggesting to help keep you safe is don’t get ANY bike that ends with ‘R’ that stand for ‘Race’ and is a serious bike; therefore not a starter bike. 20 years racing MX, and road, race instructor, sport bike club founder, shop owner

Except for the Ninja 250 or 500, pretty much all of them will be too high for you. The good news is that you can have them lowered WITHOUT compromising your ride - so long as you don't drop it too too much. If you buy new, have it done right then and there. If not, take it to a place that services whatever model you buy.

I'm 5'3 and bought a ZX6R (636) and had it lowered. It's perfect!

I do recommend a 600, any model. They're light which will make it easier for you to move it around since you'll probably not have the firmest contact with the ground. And they make a good first sport bike - they're quite zippy so you won't get bored but they're not unreasonable.

Oh yes, I forgot the ZZR600. If I had gone with that one, I wouldn't have had to lower it because I reached the ground quite well. You might need to make a few adjustments, but the less you have to lower it, the better.

Hello,

Go to Kawasaki.com, Honda.com, Yamaha.com and Suzuki.com Then check out the specs. on there web, like seat height. That is only the first part because next you'll need to stop in to your local dealership.

Well lets back up a bit here...give them a call to make sure they in deed have that (say 600cc bike) motorcycle on the floor. Why do I need to drive around town to check out all of the bikes, because a seat height may show 26" on that Honda and show 26" seat height on that Suzuki but here is the catch.

All widths are created equal nor are those salesman, believe me, my wife and I went through that crap with salesman a couple of years back while shopping for a Cruiser, she stands 5'3".

I hope this information was helpful, good luck and whatever you do take your time because once you buy they have your cash and you have that bike.

Many sport bikes have a higher seat height. Some that are often possible for riders sized more like Michael J. Fox than Arnold are the Ninja 250 and the Buell Blast, which Eric Buell designed to have two seats to accommodate different sized riders.

Your best bet is a grey import from the range of Japanese 'home market' bikes. There are many smaller versions of models you may already be familiar with and are ideal for the smaller rider. I'm shorter than you are and have found some really great rides this way. Recommend Bat Motorcycles nr London. Also there are old copies of Grey Bike Magazine (now out of print) available on ebay for examples of what is out there.

For a Ninja type bike have a look at a Kawasaki zxr400.
Any other of the sports 400's (Suzuki GSX400R, Honda VFR400, Honda RVF400) as they will be small enough for you and great fun on the road as you could embarrass bigger, faster bikes quite easily.

Try the kawasaki zzr600 ok it's more of a sports tourer but has a very low seat height and is a very comfortable bike to ride, it is also pretty quick and handles well enough too.

In fact I know a few people who have had to raise their seat heights because it's to low for them.

Here's the simple truth, you need to just buy this bike here.

Ninja 250R Sport. The best for the money and is very fast.
I have several friends who ride them everyday.

Check out the story on this link I have attached, it will sell you on the bike for certain.
