dirt bike seized engine 125

i started it up with the choke then gave it 30 to 45 second to warm up at low to medium rev and then i took of to warm it up on my way. two minutes away it stopped not like killing the engine but it stopped. the kick wouldn't budge so i guessed it seized. i have a few qeustions. what happened how did it happen, what can i do to fix it and how much will it cost.
p.s im thirteen and my dad and i are not do it your selfers

if it's a 2 stroke did you mix oil in the gas? some bikes need a 2 cycle oil in the tank. if it only ran a little while on straight gas try putting wd40 in the cylinder to free it up.sometimes you get lucky good luck!

Lack of lubrication is the reason of the seizure. The cost to repair can vary, it depends on what kind of engine, 2 or 4 cycle, and how old the bike is as newer bikes can't be rebored like old bikes used to be.It may be a cold seizure, the piston warmed up and expanded while the cyclinder , if iron, hadn't heated up at the same rate and didn't expand yet.

if its a 2 stroke and you either ran ethanol or no oil the engine seized from lack of oil.oil will not mix with ethanol.TO fix this right the engine should be overhauled which means bored new piston and rings at the least.
