My 50 cc scooter is drinking petrol! it has just been repaired for a petrol leake, which i thought was the problem but now i have it back, it isnt leaking, but it is still getting through a tank of petrol every 2/3 days! i probably travel a total of 20 miles a day. Does anybody know what the problem might be? any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance

Someone is sucking the petrol out of your tank.

O.K. Your fuel isn't leaking. But just to be safe, lets start at the petrol tank and work down. Do you have a fuel tap, that you can turn off when not in use? If so, try this. Check the fuel lines from the tank to the carbs. Next, does the bike start OK in the mornings and then rev high for the rest of the day? If so, you could have a sticky choke. Also, look at the cables, make sure there are no dents, kinks, as these could cause you to run with choke. If you have a rev counter, make sure that your tick over is not too fast (about 1200 - 2000 rpm). Adjust with speed screw on carb.

If it is not the fuel lines, a high tick over speed, or a sticky choke, check your gaskets. Failing that, pass.

Luck.

you dont say whether this has consistently been the case and what make / form / engine length that's. in case you cane it everywhere then it extremely is going to use a number of gasoline, when I had an RXS-a hundred and that i used to flat out everywhere £5 used to do for variety of eighty miles (and this grow to be interior the 65p a litre days) If it hasnt consistently been a petroleum-junkie then verify right here:- Exhaust baffles and couplings - if those are unfastened it may desire to reason a prosperous combination Exhaust pipe and silencer - a small hollow in those could additionally reason a prosperous combination Carburettor seals and gasoline pipes - verify those for leaks and cracks as this could in many situations be a source of subject. The giveaway right that's a solid scent of petrol. verify around the gasoline faucet as properly Carburettor jets - this one is extremely a job for a expert, yet whilst the jets are blocked (they get this way especially situations as a effect of each and every of the c**p interior the petrol storage tanks at provider station) this could reason severe gasoline intake Crankcase seals - Drain the oil from the gearbox. If it smells of petrol then the crankcase seals want changing and quickly, whilst petrol is leaking interior the path of the crankcase seals it extremely is going to finally attain a element the place the motorcycle wont start up (as got here approximately with my first motorcycle) Air clear out - If its clogged or grimy that's yet one greater reason. whether that's a paper type and its heavily clogged then it extremely is going to get replaced. If its a sponge type and its clogged then you definately can truly clean it by skill of first rinsing in petrol, then soapy water yet make helpful that's bone dry till now you place it returned in!!! regardless of what everyone else says, face as much as any temptation to run it with out an air clear out!! wish you get it regarded after
