The part I am looking for is actually "inside the carbeaurator."
It is a u shaped rod. My mechanic took it apart and has lost this piece. I am trying to prevent having to purchase a $700 carbeaurator. The diagrams on internet do not list this part.

look up a bike garage in your area. they should have parts like that lying around. and in the meantime tell your mechanic to do likewise, anyway....if he looses it its his fault. i would also suggest ebay, but since you dont know a part number of that piece and you cant seem to find it in manuals the first option is the best. if still unlucky i would suggest you to search for a Virago forum on the net. there you will get more information and probably even find someone who has a piece like that.

good luck bro, and if you tried all of the above and still have no luck then drop me an email, and i will personally help you out. sascha@eureka.lk

cheers

keep the rubber-side down and out of the ditches!

its a good deal that bike has a BULLETPROOF motor! I have an 1981 Virago with well over 200,000 miles on it! The only problem you will ever have is with the starter motor and its easy to fix once it happens. parts are still available for those bikes at the dealerships and at boneyards. I would jump all over it!

If your mechanic lost it, he/she should be paying for it. If you're buying, a dealer.
