the shop charged me for work, that was never done. a new water pump, timing belt, thermostat, reworked head, head gasket, oil seal was never installed on my car, and it was never installed. they stripped out the bottom fittings on the new raditor they installed. this is pure fraud.

I've just bought a deisel citroen saxo, which has been well serviced and many new parts. I left it for about 10 days and it will not start. Do I keep turning the engine over ( unlike a petrol engine) which I am used to. It was going well until this.

I have an oil leak and the nissan dealer told me $350. Now another place is saying $320. Isn't that kind of high just to repair an oil leak? Its a 95 Nissan maxima?

The truck is running great, but I am wondering if I need to have the vehicle serviced or if it is just coming on because its close to 40,000. My car is a 2005 Chevy Equinox, runs great and I have never had a problem with it.

When I start the car the ABS/Service Vehicle Soon and Traction Off lights come on and then when I drive and turn a few times my Emergency Brake Light comes on. I have the following codes in which can be cleared. C1221, C1226 and C1233. The other code in which comes on and cannot be cleared is C1232 LF wheel Sensor Circuit Open. I believe there is a ground problem however is there a way of narrowing down the search.

My car exhaust has got rusty and is falling off. My dad says the whole exhaust will need replacing. As it's xmas and an expensive and busy time, I am worried as to how much this will cost me. Does anyone have anysort of clue as to how much it will cost? I have a Citrean Saxo if that makes any difference. I am in England too.

Does it burn you up too, that an answer that you "know" is wrong gets picked best answer by the voters? It makes me wonder why I bother to answer questions in length, and try to help people who do not "know" just to get voted down. Why am I wasting my time? Maybe I need my head examined for even wasting good time on a loosing battle. Another part of the cause is; once you vote, you can't change the vote, even after you find out you voted for the incorrect answer, you are stuck with what you voted, right or wrong. This is not right, and should be fixed!!!

Older engine blocks were designed with regular oil in mind. Newer engine blocks are designed with synthetic oil or synthetic blend engine oil in mind to use.

Would it harm an older engine to run synthetic oil or synthetic blends?

Would it help it?

Before we got into the project the engine was missing badly, getting worse the longer it went on, it has been an ongoing problem with this car. I replaced the plenum last year and it seemed to take care of the problem. Then slowly started coming back again. As a note it misses much worse during colder temperatures. This problem continued to persist, finally it refused to start. We went through and did a complete top end rebuild. Heads were brought to a machine ship, cleaned up, rebuilt and vacuum checked. Put it all back together, replacing all gaskets, hoses, water pump, and O2 Sensor. Went to start it up, nothing. It turns over catches, then dies immediately. Then nothing for a few minutes, then will catch again. I have gone through and made sure all grounds and electrical items have been attached correctly. Has spark and correct fuel pressure. Something new is the fuel gage reads empty even though it is full, not sure if that is related. Please Help I am at a loss...

I have a 1990 Grand Prix with a 3.1 v6 engine. I have been taking care of it I changed the oil, antifreeze, I changed its spark plugs 1 1/2 years ago with autolite platium plugs. Sometimes When I drive it for about 12 miles when the engine is at operating temp it starts to make a knocking noise. I noticed this when the plug were 3 months old.The noise will go away when you rev it up alittle. it also comes and goes. The engine does not use oil and its full. Im just wondering if the autolite platium plugs are causing this and also the transmission has a hard Reverse when warm it makes a clunk noise only in reverse. Drive and other gears don't do this. This is a 4 speed hydramatic. Was there a spring upgrade for this? I know its way overdue for a transmission fluid change and will do it when its warm outside.
