My sister's transmission broke in her 96' Ford Explorer XLT w/148K miles. KBB for fair condition is $3.6K for the Los Angeles area. Repair estimate is $1.5K.

I know its been hot these days and I turned on the AC a couple of times while being stuck in traffic. And when I got home, even after I turned off the engine, the coolant was boiling. I don't know whats wrong. Do I need to put in more coolant?? I don't know much about cars. And what am I suppose to do with the coolant that's still in the coolant tank??

Saturn was reving high at stops and surging. I installed a new OEM EGR valve and plug wires and it is better but still runs very rough while setting still in Drive, shifting to Neutral smooths it out but it idles high for 15-20 seconds and finally settles down. If I shift back into Drive, it revs up and surges and flickers again.

Any ideas ? No Codes showing.

I need a torque wrench and I don't understand what the "drive" on various wrenches mean. I can choose between a 1/2" drive and a 3/8" drive. what is that, and why would I choose one over the other?

The 2003 Explorer sport has 60,000 miles on it and has never had any major tune ups done to it. I replaced the brakes, tires, and I'm about to do the spark plugs and wire kit. Does anyone know what this is?

just did front end work incd. c/v joints , flushed radiator, next day back into park spot, start car to leave, car won't move, starts in all gears, will not roll in N , {car cut off in low rpms after the flush on slowing down and stoping, } car as if stuck in park, i hope it is park nuetral safety switch, or gear select switch.

It's a 99 Discovery. I'm pretty sure it was the head. Anyway it's going to be expensive. Should I sell it and let the buyer fix it, or fix it then sell it. I have had it 4 yrs and this is the first problem I have ever had with it.

When i have my left blinkler on it continues to blink, but does not blink and stays steadilly on when applying the brakes. When brake is off, then blinker continues to work.anyone have a solution?

the battery light just came on on my 99 cavalier. it still starts and runs fine. the battery is about 4 years old...do i a new one? am i in danger of getting stranded on the side of the road? im obviuosly no machanic but is there anything easy i can check? i really cant afford to take it in. any help would be greatly apprieciated...thanks
