I will travel by automobile on Hwy. I-85 from 407 Long Forest Circle to 3017 Arnold Drive in Shelby, N. C. , 28152. Can you tell me where to turn, and the Highway No. to travel from there?

Why are there so many ignorant people driving that don't accelerate to the appropriate speed limit while they are on the on-ramp? Don't they realize that is why they make them as long as they do, so that you have time to get up to speed BEFORE you enter the freeway? This really frustrates me. (Can you tell I have just been out driving with these idiots?) I know this bothers other people, too. Any other driving pet peeves anyone wants to get off their chest?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I heard on the radio this morning that some of the luxury SUVs are offering the internet as a standard package. With that said...what do you think of this? I would be worried about more wrecks and things on the roadways, and one of the DJs said that he would be worried about possible road rage if someone got a bad email. What are your thoughts on cars with the internet?

In my country, the cab drivers are charged a preimium for cab rental. They also have to pay for gas on their own. After which, they get paid by the meter, everything the customer gives them goes into their pockets.

When your on the road and there are dumb a$$ drivers driving especially slow for no reason at all, do you think they should be ticketed just like the guy driving over the speed limit? I know some states say if your holding up more than 5 cars you have to pull over, but I seldom see it happen, and i've never heard of anyone getting a ticket for it. There might just be 1 or 2 people in line but they have to risk their lives going into the opposing lane just because some dimwit is too stupid to drive the speed limit.

I am a bus driver from South Wales and I am amazed by the amount of OAPs who moan at me when I ask to see their free travel pass. I mean, all they have to do is show me a small piece of plastic and they can get on for nothing but they complain and moan when you ask to see it. WHY?????

I've never been to Australia, but I do wonder about their driving mentality, just out of curiosity. To give you examples of what I'm looking for, here's how driving styles of other countries strike me, and I'd love to read something in that vein from anyone who may have experienced driving in Australia:

UK driving seems inspired by a good-natured team spirit, and you can move through thick traffic while people help you along, but be prepared to accelerate off the line like mad, as everybody does.

New Zealand driving is oddly hurried and risky, people are whisking their cars along at unreasonably high speeds and get pushy, but tend to be nice people once they get out of their cars.

German driving is oddly sign-controlled, and people will obey signs and regulations in drastic wways and at the expense of fluency of traffic, but driving is very safe there.

French driving is relaxed with the odd road rage candidate.

Any takers? Cheers.

When you commute to work, is it okay to pass another buggy, or are you supposed to fall lin line behind unless they are stopped?

Does anyone know how much is the train from Luton / Luton Airport Parkway into London return? Its gonna be this Saturday, day return. I just wanna check cos theres gonna be loads of us so could get expensive. National Rail Website tells me the prices start at £55.00 single. This seems to be obvious garbage to me. It also says from Telford to London return is £220-£1050! Yet I know for a fact that this is actually about £35. (This follows on from yesterdays helpful answers about Park & Ride)

I drove 20 minutes along a deserted dual carriageway alongside the Firth of Forth. Pale blue skies, flocks of swans flying over, music on the stereo.
Arrived at the railway station, one of my train buddies had bought me coffee already. 11 minutes on the train with my pals, then a short walk through central Edinburgh to my office, arrived feeling relaxed and happy.
I love commuting! Does anyone else or am I just a bit strange?

Why do people find it okay to cut in line while driving in traffic? What I mean is, if there is a line of cars that is backed up trying to exit from the highway or merge onto another highway, why do some people think it's okay to drive alongside the entire line and then cut in at the last possible moment? I suppose the truth of the matter is that people feel safe and brave when they're inside a two ton piece of metal but when in face-to-face interaction (standing in line at the post office) no one cuts the line because they don't have the protection of a car around them and they fear being reprimanded and/or getting hurt. Anyone else find it odd that most people only seem to grow a pair once they're inside their car?

Or even a wheelchair (no PC pls, lets be honest). I am a mum to a two-month-old girl and I don't have a car, so the bus or train is my way of getting around. I am usually met with disdain by others without kids. I am always very polite and say sorry if I bump anyone, but nothing stops the looks. If the bus is busy, I fold the buggy or walk.
