Why is it a problem?

Driving can be very stressful.

Neither of my grandmas learned to drive and they lived into their late 80's. Both of them were healthy until the day they didn't wake up. The oldest lived to be 105 and carried her groceries from the store three blocks away when she was 87. She walked and rode the bus and she never had to worry about tailgaters, red light runners, oil changes, tires, battery, gas prices, insurance. All that stress was what killed off her kids before she died. All three of her kids died before her. Must have been the stress of driving.

My grandpas both died in their late 60's. They drove!!! It must be the driving that killed them off!

Sometimes when other drivers do stupid things I can feel my blood rising. I have read that tension like that eats away at your insides and shortens your life.

Driving can be fun, but it isn't necessary thanks to public transportation and the new high tech bicycles. Don't feel left out, not driving might just keep you healthy and happy longer than your friends who drive.

Some people just don't drive. My sister will be 40 next week and she still doesn't drive! There is nothing wrong with her physically or mentally, she just wont go down to the DMV and take the tests. If you want to drive, DO IT! No point in waiting.

Europe - no. They have much much better mass transit systems.
US - a little odd.

to at least have the knowledge of how toif you plan on ever operating a vehicle
(a lot of people don't, just have a faux view of their lack of driving skills so they yell at everyone else on the road)

Get a Longboard for transportation. Cheap, clean, fairly little maintance and fun too!

A little odd...but not unheard of. If you've managed to make it this long, don't worry about it unless you need to learn. Driving should only be done if it's necessary anyways. If it's not necessary, then don't do it and you will save yourself lots of money.

It dosen't really matter what other people think. It's important what you think.

Do you want to learn how to drive? There are probably programs in your area where you can pass your permit and take lessons.

yes thats strange but i'm sure there are more out there like you that really don't get into cars like the rest of us and couldn't wait until we were 16 to get our drivers license.
