We plan to relocate to the San Francisco Bay area and I've seen some nice houses in Walnut Creek, but my husband wants a short (half hour to 40 minutes if possible), smooth commute. What is this one like? Advice?

what do u do if you are out driving and someone gets way too close to your bumper? I do not drive too slow, but go only about 6 miles over the limit because we have those stupid red light and speed cameras all over the damn town.

When rich business executives hire a limo driver, there are circumstances where they might be running late and will demand that the driver break the speed limits or they might demand that the driver run through a red light in order to make a meeting on time. If the car gets pulled over by the cops, who gets the ticket? And whose driving record will it go against?

why do you think people pull past the white stop bar when they stop at a red light or stop sign.

your about 5 car lengths back waiting at stop light when the guy in front of you pulls forward. you then have to pull forward. you're still waiting on the light and the guy in front of the line pulls forward and stops, then the next guy, next guy, you have this huge azz space now in front of you. if you were trying to do something like look at your map, someone walking down the sidewalk or that cool cd - U keep getting distracted by the guy pulling forward in front of you. if you dont move up with everybody else, somebody in the next lane over jumps in front of you. Why cant you just stop at the freakin white bar where you're suppose to. You cant judge the light, if you could you wouldn't keep *** n up. You're pizzin' everybody off behind you when you do that.

They just stand there even when the train is mostly empty but a lot of people are trying to get on. I sometimes say "thank you" to them when they are being very inconsiderate, but often those people are the type you don't want to talk to anyway. What else can be done?

We can't go on indefinitely building multi-lane superhighways, and it seems like whenever you turn on the local channel, there is always a traffic jam somewhere. So, here's a simple solution. Every household would have a computer installed in the foyer, and also connected to their vehicles. When you are leaving your house, you have to punch into the computer where you want to go. The computer would then tell you which route you HAVE to take, or alternately, you may NOT leave now, due to too much traffic. In that case, the computer would not allow the vehicle to start. It's stupid to get into a car, and go sit in a mile long traffic jam idling the engine with hundreds of other vehicles. So, how do you get to work? Simple; if you can get 4 other households to hitch a ride with you, then you can go out. Thus traffic is reduced by a factor of 80% via forced carpooling, and you would only have to drive your car 1 day a week, if everyone shared.

An informal survey here... Do you live near any stations selling biodeisel? Can you suggest any areas (states, cities, towns, etc...) that would be a good place to live to be near some? Or places that are otherwise forward thinking with respect to more sustainable fuel sources.
