It would be a lot better if this actually happened and stayed that way for good. People would be able to have enough cash to afford entertainment again. There wouldn't be a problem anymore for the people that can't afford much. I have a 12 gallon car that cost about 22-27 bucks to fill up now-a-days. Back then when gas was a lot cheaper, it only cost me 10-12 bucks to fill it up. There are people out there that are less fortunate to not have a nice running car with great gas mileage.

I can understand if there was a traffic accident ~ but there was none since all Radio stations didn't mention Lake Shore Drive Traffic at all. They usually mention the status of LSD at the end of the traffic reports....

I can't believe that many people car pool just to be able to use an HOV lane. If Fuel savings and enviromental reasons are really what it is about, it seems that if every one got home and work sooner because of an extra lane to be used by everyone, much more would be accomplished in savings and to the enviroment.

How far under the weight of London do we actually travel?

I live in the Bay Area and drive to work on 101. On the freeway, I pass "signs" that give you automated estimates of driving times to various destinations (e.g. 10 minutes to 237, 25 minutes to 280, etc). These signs are updated dynamically, presumably to reflect current traffic conditions, and I have found them to generally be pretty accurate.

But my question is this: does anyone know how they actually work? Is there a traffic helicopter taking pictures and some human expert who then guessimates based on these pictures and updates the sign? Is it automatically counting the number of cars that pass certain checkpoints in a given time period and estimating based on that?

What is actually going on? Does anyone know for sure how these signs work?

In addition what kind of car is it, and what year is it.

Please be realistic and don't say that your five year old car has 500,000 miles because that's just crap.

Or have you gone ovber the speed limit by like 40mph on the highway. Was it fun like I think it should be. Do you agree with me when I say if there is a test to get a special racing license to race at anytime on the highway as fast as you can go even 252mph in a Bugatti Veyron. Would this be a good Idea. I mean most U.S citezens couldn't make it I mean look at the crashes in America it's the worst in the world. Should the good drivers be able to get this special racing license and do this?
