In addition what kind of car is it, and what year is it.

Please be realistic and don't say that your five year old car has 500,000 miles because that's just crap.

'66 Chevy Nova. The 5-digit odometer had 67,000 miles on it when we bought it in 1985, had probably already flipped over the number tumbler and was actually 167,000. It was owned by a retired gal, so I really don't know.

In the 20 years we've owned it, we've put on another 300,000.

We have replaced both the engine and trans once.

By the way, as an insurance auto appraiser, I have seen cars one year old with 100,000 miles on them, so it's not entirely out of the question for a 5-year old car to have 500k. I have a friend who's a truck driver, and he says some companies keep a truck moving without ever turning it off for months on end!

1999 Ford Ranger
and I believe we have 98,000 miles on it ....

although if I still had my 2002 Sypder, I'd had well over 104,000 miles on it because I drove 100 miles a day just to work and back. :) Alas, I wrecked it, and it's in car heaven now.
