If I get tailgated I put on my four way flashers and slow down. If they don't take the warning I slow down more and move into the gravel to spray them and hope they back off. If they want to endanger my life I llet them know what I think of it.

You do have the right to drive slower than the limit. That sign is the maximum speed allowed for that area, it is not the required speed. Where did people learn that? Certainly not in drivers education.

Impatient, caffienne riddled hotshots are making the highways unsafe.....

specific they provides you with a cost tag. Its referred to as peer stress. merely undergo in ideas the leaping of a cliff addage. suitable thank you to deal with that difficulty is wait until there are 8 to 10 automobiles in the back of you and pull off to the shoulder and enable them to bypass. Then reenter site visitors. The regulation states approximately which you will not exeed the published velocity decrease for any reason. not even to bypass yet another motor vehicle. I truthfully have had 15 tickets for speeding in 3 years. I force some hundred thousand miles a twelve months. Spent plenty on legal expert expenditures. cops are unforgiving and infrequently understanding. Screw the different drivers. If it facilitates. merely think of that with the help of doing the fee decrease you're slowing down a driving force in a hurry that can bring about an accident for exceeding the decrease. look at it as saving lives (circuitously). Do the decrease.

I would do as kny390 said, sometimes, but if I had to go a slower speed for a particular reason such as my car was overheating or I was looking for a particular location, etc., I would stay at the slower speed till I got my job done, and then maybe accelerate to 40mph. HOWEVER, if the S.O.B. who had been tailgaiting me had been doing so annoyingly and dangerously close, I'd stick to my slower speed for a while longer just to retaliate. AND, if you're lucky like me and drive a diesel car and a diesel truck (wouldn't have anything else!!) you can really "smoke 'em" by turning on your a/c when you're going slow and then stomp on your accelerator and really dark diesel exhaust will come pouring out of your tailpipe and stink the squat out of 'em. That's been an excellent payback for such annoying S.O.B.'s. But, no one says who "owns" the road, so if you need to go slower for a while, DO IT!! It's as much your road as it is the other guy's. God Bless you.

Why do you intentionally block traffic? The Dufus is not the guy behind, it is the guy who cannot maintain the low speed limit. If you need to go that slow then it would be curteous to pull over when you are Impeding traffic. And, BTW, Its the law too.

And what part of You weren't doing the speed limit do you not understand? You just WANTED to be a jerk.

It's your perogative to go under the speed limit - just like those who choose to go faster.

However, you have to realize there are penalties for not following the posted speed (higher or lower!), one is you can get a ticket for not following the speed limit - the other is you are upsetting other drivers because YOU are not being courteous.

If you choose to drive slower than the speed limit, when someone comes up on you, you need to pull over and allow them to go by. This is the courteous thing to do.

It's not right that they were tailgating - but you instigated the behavior by being a hindrance to normal traffic flow.

You're part of what's wrong with drivers. Drive the speed limit!! Heck, you can even get away with 5 miles over and not get pulled over. Stop driving like a grand father and get a move on!

I usually move the car up to 40 and don't go any faster. Change lanes if you can, and let the guy go. Someone like that is the faster you go, the faster they go.

Find a place to pull off and let them go by. Let me ask you this ,if you got a call and the hospital or an officer at the scene of a crash said"You need to get here fast as your loved is dying"!!!!! What would the speed you would drive to get there?
