I recently bought an R Reg Golf 2L GTI and have found that this juddering occurs in third and forth gears, particularly when going up hill. Any ideas as to the cause?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, i am not a car person, but i am looking for a very gas economic car. I was looking at some VW, and the Jetta TDI seems to get about 40 or more mpg. The only problem that i was noticing was that the ones that i was looking at were manual. Are all Jetta TDI's Manual, or are their some Automatic as well?? If they are all manual, is there another VW that gets about the same gas mileage as this one?? Thanks!!

Because VW has stopped producing Eurovans, Weekenders and Westies, you have to pay top $ to buy one used.

I've been told that jettas are not good cars and that they often have problems. Someone even said it will spend more time in the shop than on the road. The thing is i like jettas. The older ones...like maybe a 1997 or 1998 or a bit younger maybe. However i want something reliable. Does anyone know much about these cars?

i have a beetle convertible n i thot itd b a great idea to get my roof tan...which i am coming 2 regret cuz its really dirty n i dont kno how 2 clean it! does anyone out there have a beetle convertible and have cleaned their roof...if so i need to kno whats the best thing to buy and how i should go about cleaning it!

oh and the dealership said they dont sell any special kind of roof cleaner and soap will ruin the fabric!

Volksvagen golf 1998 left unattended for 1 and a half, needs help on how to get it working again. It's a manual transmission and it doesn't start because i've been away in japan for a 1.5 years. Usually drive it in drive. I tested it swithing it from drive to 3rd and there is no difference.
