Every time I work on my '81 rabbit diesel and my '84 jetta diesel, my hands get so black. When I work on the other vehicles, my hands dont get so black.

This car is only one year old and had no accidents. I checked the key LED but is working. I only can open the dorr manually. Radio and air conditioner works... windows ...well don't.

I have been quoted £120 plus VAT for an oil and filter change on my car. It is coming up to one year old and according to VW all thats needed is an oil/filter change. The main dealer prices are rediculous. Will using and independent garage make my warranty void? And what about re-setting the service due computer warning data?

I just got a VW beetle on eBay and i would like to do a search of the VIN number...But all of the web sites for dooing such a thing require a 17 number VIN (or something).....I know that mine is a 1966 because the first 3 numbers are 116 but how do i get the rest of the info that i require?

Okay, I know the answer to that question is 'no.' But what's almost as cute as a Beetle and has four doors? I don't like any of the other VW options. Other makes and models, thus, must be considered.... Ugh! Would normally get a Grand Wagoneer, but talk about gas guzzler! I'm a young, hip and cool... mom, and need to have a car that acurately, yet functionally, reflects this. Please help!

Due to illness my Passat sat for 6 months and had to have a new battery, it has 48K miles. When I took it to NJ State inspection the tech plugged in the OBD and got the following results:
*Catalytic Converters - Not Ready
*Oxygen Sensors - Not Ready
* Secondary Air Injection - Not Ready
The result is I did not pass for emission problems. Any help would be appreciated as I am not working and can not afford a large bill at the local VW Dealer's Service Department.

Its a lil thiner than the nasty one that i took out of my car but it fits fine its just not as thick... should this be a problem or pose ay sort of damage later on if i just dont worry about it?

How can I change or replaced the front break pads in '99 Volkswagen Passat? It's a disc breaks and do I need special tools to do it? I have already replaced the rear break pads, but the front breaks looks so different. My car is a '99 VW passat gls 4dr, 1.8 ltr 20v turbo engine. Thanks.
