Hi gurus,

My 1995 nissan altima has started to make grinding sounds from the left front wheel when i brake. Is this an expensive repair?

I drive a Nissan Primera 2002, it recently had brakes changed and it squeaks everytime i brake. Its so embarrasing, i hate it when i drive and stop, then people turn their heads looking for an old ford. Please help- its sooo annoying,!!

I want to replace my front and rear struts .
To remove the strut does it have to compressed first or can I just take out the strut . It looks like the spring is not compressed when I jack up the car . Please advise on procedure .
I am very mechanically inclined but want to make sure on doing this type of job .

I've been told that if aftermarket brakes are used, the brake hardware kit must be removed b/c the aftermarket brakes won't fit otherwise.

One guy at nissan says the brakes will just be noisier w/ aftermarket brakes, thus the hardware kit is actually not needed.

Another guy says the brakes probably slide b/c the hardware kit is no longer there.

Any insight on experience with 03 nissan maxima brakes--factory vs. after market?

Due to recent problems with my 2002 nissan altima constanly cutting out, I need to know exactly where the Crankshaft Reposition Sensor because I would like to replace it. I am pretty sure it exists in the distributor, but I don't know exactly where. Please help.

Has anyone here used an MSD Digital 6+ ignition timing unit for spray applications with the VQ35DE engine? I'm going to be spraying 75 shot and need to retard timing during spray (via window switch). Anyone successfully used this on an 02+ Altima?

I have a 2003 Pathfinder. The mechanic discussed with me that there is some sort of hydraulic cam adjuster that is having trouble. I believe the cam basically rotates and has bumps on it that work a lever that open and closes the valves (affects timing of the opening and closing of valves). He said that this cam adjuster is hydraulically controlled by the oil in the car (use normal engine oil?). I also think he mentioned something about the cam adjuster controls the index, which I was interested in roughly how this works. It seems to affect the horsepower and perhaps the timing. Thanks for any insights and corrections in my understanding (autoshop was many years ago).

Currently I have a 280z straight six with carbs and a Maxima 4sp automatic.

I'd like a more modern, powerful and cleaner engine, and still an overdrive auto.

I respect the various v-6s that Nissan builds but am not very knowledgeable.

Don't need turbo. 200hp would be cool. An engine that would mate the tranny that I have would be good.

Something readily available and not brutally expensive to purchase as well.

Any suggestions?

I just bought a 2006 Nissan Sentra from a non-nissan dealer. The dealer told me that he is not sure if the car has a keyless entry or not. He only gave me the keys to the car and thats all. I am trying to find out if the car has the keyless entry in it or not, considering that it has all of the other goodies in it, so that i can buy the remote for it. I have a 2006 Nissan Sentra 1.8 S Special Edition. I know keyless entry comes standard in the 2008 2.0 S trim but cant find if my particular one has it or not. I will greatly appreciate feedback. Thank you all.

Is there a drain plug or do I have to unsrew all the bolts from the pan do drain the fluid? If it has a drain plug, where is this located? I couldn't find one this morning.

Hello! My 1987 Nissan Maxima's speedometer is misbehaving. It does not always read the correct speed. It will sit at zero, slowly flutter up near the speed I am going and then slowly go back down to zero. When I accelerate it falls straight back down to zero. Sometimes letting off of the gass peddle prompts it to spring back up, sometimes not. When it sits down at zero it makes this angry click click click noise. The transmission seems to have a harder time shifting when the speedometer is misbehaving. The problem is slowly getting worse.

to fix a passenger side door on a 2001 Nissan Sentra?

I got T-boned today. The bottom half of the front passenger side is SMASHED in.

Factory alarm. Keyless entry works but key wont start car. When I stick my key in, all the interior lights go out and then the key fob no longer can lock/unlock the doors. Then to make it work again, I have to d/c the battery, wait over night, then connect the batery. I've tried locking and unlocking with the key fob, get in car, close the doors, and then try to start the car, but everytime the immobiliser kicks in, and theunlock/lock doesnt work on my key fob or the drivers door buttons. They just make a lot of clicking noises, while the alarm LED goes crazy. I tried taking out the relay and the fuse in the engine compartment boxes, but it doesnt help. I guess the kill switch is on. I dont know how to turn it off or bypass it.

I thought about reprogramming my key but not sure if that would work. Would resetting the ECU do anything?

and im talking about a twin turbo 300zx and a newer celica like 2000 - 2004 and which has the most potential to be fast, like if you put 2 or 3 grand into both cars (performance parts only) which would be faster?
