Between Cyl #2 AND #3 under the intake manifold. You get to it after the oil filter adapter is removed I take the right hand axle out also. Knock sensor will not set a check engine light. All the knock sensor does it to retard the timing if ping is detected. Many people just drive around with knock sensors not functioning.

Speed sensor sounds like the correct thing that cause the are to stall, You can replace the sensors youreselfs, But If you dont have any knowledge of experince, Better off taking it to the mechanic, Least then it warranty for that problem, I would also call around and see what other mechanics charge to do that job, If u feel you have a good relationship with youre mechanic, Let him do the work.
