had problems with a relay switch on car and when i pulled one out it had a small amount of white creamy stuff on the contacts. Is this normal and could it be the reason it is faulty?

I have a 2001 ford escape 3.0 v6, my check engine light came on and I heard a hissing sound coming from the engine compartment. I checked and I found a peice of melted plastic plugged in near the egr vave with two small tubes blowing hot air/exhaust into the engine compartment. I called ford with the part number frm the burnt piece of plastic and they told me it was the egr pressure sensor i bought one and they said to instal it with regular rubber fuel line, I did but the hose and sensor melted away. How do I install it and keep it from melting the hose and the part? could there be something else wrng that is making it hot enough to melt away I dont see how becuase the tubes are directly connect tot a tube that is connected to the exhaust manifold. lease help.

Does anyone know what I can do? The seat belt is stuck and cannot be used. It is stuck inside the panel section and we have tried pulling on it and such but to no avail. Should we take it to the dealership? Would they charge me for fixing it? It is not under warranty any longer but we are still making payments on it.

Currently I have a 289 and a three speed manual that run great, and They've been in the car ever since It was new. But its all original except some seals and a new carb and intake. Its never been rebuilt and its starting to show its age a little smoke and some new leaks. Well, since I like to do crazy things to my cars I was wondering what was the most interesting swap I could do. The car only weighs 3400 pounds so I was thinking I could have a little fun and put a 3.8 Sc and a T5 out of a Thunder-bird SC in it or find an engine and trans out or a newer Mercury Marauder. I know the engine out of the Tbird would make it haul because I had a 89 XR7 with the same engine and that car hauled and it weighed 500 pounds more than this car would weigh. But just looking to see what every body Else thinks. Thanks for you ideas.

The sofa goes down but it doesn't come up. Previously I would switched the motor around backwards to make the down (recline) up (incline) and vise-a-versa but now the thing doesn't do anything. Any ideas?

have a 2001 Ford Mustang.. It is not running very well. First of all, when I start it up in the morning and after work, it sounds really loud and makes a little ticking noise. (I was told it could be I need an oil change, but not the case because I has the oil changed and the fuel injection system cleaned).. Then when I put it into drive, it like KICKS or jumps. Its hard to explain but it has never done this before. While Im driving it runs kind of sluggish especially when Im going up a hill. Its sounds like Im racing or something because it gets loud.. Not to mention, when I hit like 40 mph it starts to miss. Now I haven't changed my spark plugs in like a year and a half and I do believe the owns I had put on were cheap back then. So could this be the result of my car issues.. My check engine light was on for about months but I think the fuse blew because it went away. I have a little over 90K on my car. Please tell me what you think!!!
