Planning on renting a Ford Taurus for a trip to Gatlinburg Tennessee. Roughly, will be about 1600 miles. I'm trying to figure out about how much money I'll need for gas, basing gas prices on $3/gall. Do the Math please????

We used to rent sa Chalet in Gatlinburg and made the trip a bunch of times. We drove a Sable, the same as a Taurus, we got around 25-26 mpg on the trip. With that in mind,

1600/26= 61.358

61.358X $3.00 = $184.61

If gas keeps going up as it is it will be hard to give you a good number but if you are looking for per miles it will be about 24 highway give or take a little. good driving

At 18mpg, you will be paying in the neighborhood of $267.00 for gas at $3/gal. (one way)
