I am looking to purchase an xlt with the 5.4 engine (i think this is the standard size). Is there a way to tell if it has the upgraded towing package, which I think includes a different rear axle?

I turn the key and there is nothing pushing against the switch so it just turns easy all the way on and the fuel ijection u hear turn on and lights work and I have power but something feels like in colomn is not turning with the ignition switch to turn the engine over I have to use a screwdriver across the celenoid I don't know what is not turning or pushing back against the ignition switch like before is is inside the coloumn and how do I fix it

We have a Ford Mondeo made end of 1994 and it is due for a service. The person at the Ford dealer (probably a secretay NOT a mechanic) said that over time water would get in to the brake fluid and so it should be changed. It sounds like they are trying to make more money. Is it possible for this to happen?

i have to crank it many times and when it does fire black smoke comes out alot,enough to stain the ground black. But after that it fires fine all day,only in the mornings it wont fire no matter what the temperature

I am about to turn 16, and I am debating with my father whether or not a car is safe for a young driver. He wants me to get an oversized redneck SUV that I want nothing to do with. When I drive my moms Escalade, I have trouble keeping it on the road all of the time because it is so wide. When I drive my dads bmw, I have no problems at all. Is a mustang safe for a first car? Is it heavy enough? Please post websites with your response if you have any. Thanks.

I know u have to pull the steering wheel but is it something simple that I can do the steering wheel has the cruise built into the face of the wheel but no airbag in it.

i turned the key and it wont start
makes a low noise like a maching gun..not too loud but u can hear it inside the car as well as 20 feet away
i turned it to the aux mode to check battery clock/radio works
idn wut is wrong
if the engine seized would it make that noise
transmission maybe?

Does anybody know where the fluid could have poured out. i added tranny fluid and about half a quart poured out and i dont see it pouring out of the tranny pan or from anywhere visible. could somebody help.

alarm works fine now. The battery seems to have a full charge. Anyone have problems simillar? Any ideas of what to do? I can't keep dropping money into a car especially when I don't have any money. (its a 2001)

I have a 1993 ford taurus with a 3.8L v6 engine. And the problem im having is that when you start the car sometimes it takes the start 3 to 5 seconds for starter to start cranking when holding the key in the start position. I have had the battery replaced since the old one was bad. But its not doing it as much. it has a used starter on it since the orignal one went out 9 months ago.
