I'd first have to ask if you've ever had the coolant flushed. If you have within the last year, there's not much to do. Winterizing yoru car for NO is about the same for Boston.
If you haven't changed your coolant or had it flushed, do so. A 50/50 mix should be fine for the NE. Any windshield washer coolant should be fine. If you haven't replaced your plugs on the car in the last year, do so. Then use an in-tank fuel injector cleaner now, and then at every oil change. You might want to use a water remover in your tank like 'Heet'. That's about all you can do.
If your battery is more than 4 or 5 years old, consider replacing it. If you haven't, it's probably near death anyway. If it's not a maintenance free battery, have it checked and filled to the proper level.
If you don't feel comfortable dowing any of this, any quick lube shop should be able to most of it for you.
Hope this helps. Good luck in the land of beans and tea.

Make sure the antifreeze is sufficiently strong and fresh. Make sure the battery is strong and filled with electrolyte. Change the oil and use a thinner one that won't strain the starter and battery. Run a can of Chevron Fuel System cleaner through the gas (it's the ONLY cleaner that REALLY works). Fill your windshield washer with fresh antifreeze cleaner.
Make sure that your tires are in good condition.....you might want some chains for icy conditions.

I AM NOT SURE WHAT EXACTLY WINTERIZING ENTAILS, BUT I WOULD ASK SOMEONE WHO KNOWS OR MAYBE TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALER AND SEE IF THEY COULD HELP YOU OUT---THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO, BUT I AM NOT SURE--MY CAR STILL HAS ITS WARRANTY SO EVERYTHING IS COVERED, BUT I HAVE NEVER WINTERIZED A CAR BEFORE----MY BOYFRIEND WINTERIZES HIS JET SKIS AND BOAT BUT I STILL DO NOT KNOW WHAT HE DOES--I HAVE A 2004 FORD ESCAPE WHICH I LOVE BUT IT IS MY ONLY CAR AND I DRIVE IT ALL YEAR----ALL I HAVE HAD TO DO SO FAR IS GET THE REGULAR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE AND ALSO TIRE ROTATIONS AND BRAKES CHECKED, ALL THE STUFF THAT THEY DO WHEN YOU CHECK YOUR OIL--GOOD LUCK!
