I would say no. The ZETEC engines are different.
The 95 Contours did not have the Variable Cam Timing.
The Focus does.
In my opinion, it would be a total night mare from a wiring hrness stand poimt. Right there you should leave it alone.

My guess is that you are aware that both the Focus and the Contour use the "same" 2.0L DOHC Zetec engine, and you want to know if installing a later model year version will achieve a favourable outcome. I will NOT say that I KNOW that you can swap the engine from a Focus. But I will say that it is PROBABLY quite possible. However, by the time all is said and done, you will be stripping the Focus engine down to just the block. EVERYTHING, including sensors, intake and exhaust, maybe even cylinder head will have to be transferred over. You're better off seeking a donor powerplant from any '95-'97 Contour/Mystique. At least you KNOW it will be a straight swap. Hope this helps.

Anything is possible. I saw a project where they drop a 5.0 into a focus.

The question would by "why"? By the time you do the work, pay the bills, debug, etc then you'd be ahead to buy what you really want to begin with.

Yes you can but why do that when you can get a engine out of a mazda that is turbo charged for a lot cheaper price and have more HP and Torque?
