I have been considering buying a Chrysler Town & Country minivan, or a Dodge Caravan. I have read that they are built poorly with lots of problems, clear through the 90's till today. The internet reviews are horrendous with people claiming that they are cheap and poorly built, with transmission, and break problems, and shoddy craftsmanship, cheap leather and seating, and malfunctioning doors and electrical systems. Can anyone give me some input on their experiences with these vehicles? I have also heard the gas milage is horrible, and that the Chrysler Corporation does not stand behind its products, and that their dealers do not know how to fix these vehicles when they need it. I love their models of minivans, but are they junk? Are they a mistake to buy? Are other minivans better? Thanks!

Today while driving my van I noticed that my speedometer wasn't working. it is stuck under the pin that is located below the 0 mph - what happened and how do I fix it - tried some self diagnostic stuff with the ignition switch and the trip button and nothing worked. Noticed that all the other electronics work and that the van is turned off the dial on the speedometer drops really low in the area on the bottom of the face of the speedo and the trip/odometer is working.

I have an '01 PT Cruiser with about 120k miles on it. I've noticed when I've pulled out of our driveway and get up to about 55mph or so, that it will jerk slightly. Almost like its trying to change gears, but not really smoothly. Most of the time it's fine though. (Could this be a bad spark plug??)The engine light came on a few days ago. I checked several of the fluids and they looked good. Just thought I'd see if anyone had any guesses what was the matter. I may call my mechanic today, but thought I'd see if anyone had some ideas what my problem is... THANKS

I have had my Pacifica for a little over a year now, it was bought "pre-owned". The gas mileage was about 22 mpg at the time of purchase, now I am only getting about 20 mpg. Everything has been done as far a regular maintence. I don't know why I seem to be decreasing in gas mileage and I drive a lot so a little decrease makes a difference. I drive the same roads all the time so highway/city shouldn't be making any difference for me. Is there any thing I can do myself without going to the mechanic? Is there anything I need to have my mechanic look for? Thanks for your help!

I am interested in what you think of the upcoming release of the new Challenger. It is based on the 1972 version and it looks really nice.
Being a baby boomer and owning a '69 Plymouth Roadrunner and always wanting a Challenger, I hope to see this come come to be. I also hope Chrysler prices it within range of most buyers..if not, it'll probably die like the new GTO did.

I checked vacuum as in Fact Serv Manual. It is ok, except vac doesn't hold at black port at vac conn as FSM says it should.Panel vents don't work at all, whether at idle or acceleration. Always blows on floor when set to PANEL. DEF and FLOOR settings work fine. I changed out ATC unit and Power Module. ATC diagnosis shows no faults. FSM mentions check valve, but A) I can't find it, and B) I think it isn't the culprit because vents NEVER work- not even at idle (high vacuum). Check valve at Master Cyl is ok and does hold vacuum where it goes into car thru firewall. Temperature settings work as expected. Coolant mixing valve works fine (vac actuated).
Thank you for your help!

All the interior lights blink sporadically and at random, even when the car is shut off. The tail lights hardly ever shut off. Once in a while they go off by themselves, but most of the time, i have to lift on the brake pedal for them to go off. However, now they won't turn off at all, causing the battery to be drained constantly. Has anyone ever had a problem like this before with a chrysler, or any other car for that matter?

Thanks!

I put in a transmission from a Dodge Stratus into my Chrysler Cirrus and my mechanic crossed some wires and burnt the starter. I got a new starter and it started again, but the radiator fan keeps running really hard and the alternator light is on now. The transmission doesn't go into gear, and when it does it just goes into gear and back out in a matter of 3 seconds. We're going to check if the alternator is bad, but I need some other suggestions on what might be wrong, and if the relay switch or TCM might need to be changed. I need a lot of help on this one. Thanks.

Do you think Chrysler would be wise to give their dealers a kick in the pants or do you think its Chryslers Fault for not making more fuel efficient cars.

I have the above car. The air didn't work at all. It was dye tested this week and the garage said it had no leaks. They charged it and the air is working now. It makes a terrible noise when I give it gas and I think this is the compressor. Am I right. Any suggestions, the garage said it is okay, but I don't think so.
thanks in advance

I'm car shopping i recently found a Chrysler that i wanted to purchase and the seller told me it makes noises when turning, due to the "strut springs". She said that the springs turn when you turn the car and reset and make a clunking sound when straightening out. Is this a common problem with Chryslers like the seller said or does it sound a little fishy? If it is a common problem will it create any real problems for the car in the future?
