I own a shop, and think this is the best thing to come along in a long time from Chrysler. I have the car as my screen saver, and I never get tired of looking at it. It is just an awesome car, and they will sell the crap out of them. Better get in line, as they will be a hot item.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

Its based on the new LY platform (replaces the current LX platform) along with the 300, Charger, and Magnum. The prices (before dealer markup) will be about the same as those.
The GTO didn't really die. It was only meant to be out for 3 years and it was. It was based on an old Holden platform that was due to go out of production at the same time. The replacement platform is still going into production and not at full capacity because the plants must be converted over. Therefore there is no extra room to make a low volume car like the GTO instead of the high volume Holden's.

It's pretty neat. It will be interesting to see what the production model looks like. It will do good for 2 or 3 years but I don't know about after that. The problem with cars like Challenger and the new Camaro is that once you've styled a retro car, what do you do when it's time to change it? Mustang is running into the same problems. That's why Ford is coming out with all these different versions and packages on the Mustang. They want to milk all they can out of this body style.
The GTO was just a joke. If GM had brought this car over here and called it something else besides GTO it might have stood a chance. It looks like they've learned their lesson with the new G8 (another Holden car)

I'm not sure if Chrysler will price it right and even if they do what about dealer mark up?The car looks nice but what about whats under it.How is the quality of the trim pieces going to be?Will the chrome piece fall of the bottom of the shifter? Are the visor clips going to be strong enough or are they going to be the same plastic ones as in the 300 that break. Will the chrome peel off or blister on the door handles? Will it have electrical problems? These are all problems I've had with a 300c I owned.

Very nice looking car and it will be coming to your local dealership somewhere in late 2007, possibly not until early 2008, as for price the talk around the dealership I work for is somewhere around the $40-50k range.

Actually it is not based on the 1970's Hemi Challenger at all. The Detroit show car was carbon fibre hood front end and fenders.I was at the North American International Auto Shoe in 2006. I still haven't seen any production versions. With the shake up with Damler Chrysler and all? There was no way possable the show car could have ever seen production..BEEP BEEP I own one of those 3 year production GTO's Get that 345hp challenger with MDS and come down to Texas and race. See how it stacks up!

It's price is high. It'll probably die like the 'new' T-Bird did. Nice styling exercise though.
