where in the car is it

Car: 1971 Plymouth Duster, Slant 6

Symptoms: I pulled off the freeway one night, and as I was coming to a stop, the engine stalled. It started up after sort of a struggle.

The car ran fine for a few more days. I thought it just needed a tune up.

Then, the car started stalling and running rough, then stalled and I couldn't start it.

I thought it was the fuel pump, so I replaced it. That wasn't the problem; the carburetor is getting gas.

I dumped a few cap fulls of gas down the carburetor and the engine doesn't turn over.

My God! What could be the problem?

Couple months ago, I get in and the mirrors are out of whack, a lot. I adjust both and write it off as vandalism.

Last week, same thing, although the car was in my garage.

Then yesterday, I get in, start it up and hear a stepping motor running......I look for the noise and find both mirrors are adjusting themselves in random motion.

Any one elses mirrors just randomly adjust like this?

The heater fan on my 89 acclaim is making a noise. I think a mouse took insulation from inside of the garage into it, because it makes a noise on high, and it blew some pink insulation out. Does anyone know how to get to the heater fan? I hope the answer is not that we have to take the dashboard out. We tried blowing it out with an air hose, no luck. Is there a way to get to it, from under the hood, hopefully.

Why would the CV joint be going so soon?
I was told it might be this because it makes a clunk sound when its cold , esp when ya turn. It happens on bumps too.
Why?

A bolt (rear bolt in upper rear multilink control arm) broke for no apparent reason on my 2004 Sebring Touring. The rest of the suspension was fine, and the bolt was only about 5 bucks. Howeverm the labor to drop the entire rear suspension, replace the broken bolt, re-install the suspension, and do an alignment was over 800 bucks. Chrysler says there is no warranty recall (car is over the mileage - just- for warranty). Chrysler shop quoted 9-10 hours, I had a reputable tire and alignment shop do it in 6.4 hours, but its still a pile of cash for a small part. No damage, no hard running, no over loading. What's up, is this a freak occurence, or does it happen to other Sebrings?

1) '88 Chrysler LeBaron GTX Turbo Sedan w/ 96k miles. $1300

Good: Clean car, saw no rust

Bad: Idles ROUGH; stalled in reverse when going very slow, and when at a stop, car is VERY close to stalling. Shifting from 3rd to 4th gear once caused a hesitation. I mentioned I forgot to test the AC to the seller; when he tried to work it, no air would come out of the vents. Only 1 speaker may work.

Worries: Potential tranny problem, idling problem, gas millage, old age, no climate control.

2) '93 Chrysler Le Baron Coupe (Base) w/110k miles. $700

Good: Tranny shifted very smoothly + flawlessly. (PRNDL) Backing up and going forward was very smooth. Car was comfortable and everything functioned well. Body was solid.

Bad: No plates = I couldn't test drive it. Could only back it up and move it forward in a small parking area at low speed. Tranny's of this year known to fail. Minor rust in underbody and paint peeling on trunk lid.

Worries: Tranny failure, rust, paint.

Which one?

I purchased a used Plymouth Voyager, to replace my other Voyager who's Transmission went out. The replacement van
needed a dashboard installed, so I took the dashboard out of my old voyager and installed it in the new voyager with a friends help. Now that everything has been slapped back together I found my Cruise Control does not work, Power Locks dont work, Brake Lights are not working, and it appears there is now a drain on the battery of which none of these problems were there before. I did find a small ticking sound down by the fuse box under the dash, and the battery is now competely drained. Does anyone out there have an idea what the problem may be, or where I need to start to find the problem? Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.

300 000 kms, oil leak but I keep it topped up, half a tank of gas, and I left the lights on all day but I got a boost and ran it for almost an hour to charge the battery. It was during this drive that it stalled, started again after a couple attempts and a few minutes' rest, and then died for good when I parked it a few blocks away. When I try to start it it cranks and occasionally revs a bit, but it never starts.

The front brakes go at 10,000. miles and the back at 30,000; on all other vehicles, I replaced the front brakes at 20,000 miles and rear at 40,000. Does anyone know if there is a problem with this car? Front brakes are discs and rear brakes are drums. I am deciding whether to keep or sell this car. Any information would help.

On the Chrysler '96 LHS, when I go to turn the sprockets to set timing (water pump change) (told by auto parts store, goes counter clockwise) they bounce back to original position. I put the car in neutral. I suspect I have to release fuel pressure? If I do I am having an issue locating it and how much fuel comes out?

Thanks, Amedeo

Where is this switch located on the tranny so I can yank it out and try to see what the deal is. My husband just doesn't want to start pulling wires of by the tranny and risk it not working being they are touchy as it is
