This is what my instructor told me about 10 years ago. I'm sure vehicles have gotten better since. He said that cars were expected to have a life expectancy of 50,000 miles, and pickups 100,000 miles. This was based on two different types of drivers. The first buys a new vehicle and never raises the hood or dose any maintenance work on it. He/she drives it until it quits. The other person keeps his/hers maintained and takes it to the shop when anything goes wrong. These two are averaged out and that's where they get the figures. I have seen Chrysler vehicles run over 300,000 miles and still going. But these were in the second category. And I have seen some that were junk at around 30,000 miles. It's hard to answer you're question with out knowing the history of the car. And how well it was kept. There is one thing I can tell you, The best quality cars and trucks are the ones that are the company's most popular sellers. They put the most money in quality in these. With Chrysler/Dodge, it's the minivan and full size pickups. Therefore, they will last the longest on average.
