Tell the dentist it is an emergency. If they still won't get you in, call another dentist, if none can get you in, have one refer you to an oral surgeon. Most dentists allow time slots for emergencies, just as most doctors do.
Tooth infections can be very serious and life threatening, DO NOT WAIT!! It very well could be a matter of life and death!

My husband is a Dentist and there is no way he would ever make a patient wait six months in pain!!!! He makes room in his schedule the same day the patient calls. His aunt passed away because she had an infected tooth and did not want to disturb her "mean" dentist on the weekend. (she lived in another state than we do) and the infection spread throughout her system and she passed away from Sepsis.
You need to find another dentist, NOW and explain that you have an infection and need it taken care of now. Be prepared to pay cash since you are not a regular patient of theirs.
Yes, rinsing with warm salt water will help relieve some pain and pressure but will not get rid of the infection. You need a script for an antibiotic and you need treatment. Realize that if the infection is really bad, they might not "do" anything until it calms down a bit with the antibiotics. I can be difficult to numb someone with a very bad infection and if it needs to come out or you need endo, you really want to be numb!!!!
Good luck!!!!

Do Not wait six months!!!! My stepmom died from a tooth infection that turned out to be Cancer. Also..I worked for an Oral Surgeon and I can tell you that infection left untreated can result in heart problems amoung other things . Oral surgeons can pull the tooth and give you antibiotic as well as a regular dentist can. Make an appointment right away and tell them you need an emergency appointment..if they can't get you in they should at least be willing to call in a script for antibiotic.

Tie a string to all the infected teeth and then attach the end to a friends srt 300 c you'll want about ten feet of slack. Then have him power break it to a real smoky burnout and then let off the break keeping it floored. All the teeth will be removed quickly and the smell of the smoke will help keep you from thinking about the pain. Then have another friend with a toyota rush you to the emergency room (wouldn't want to get the 300c dirty with your blood).

Next time post your question in the correct category, a bad tooth has nothing to do with Cars & Transportation, unless your car won't start so you can drive to the dentist's office.

Don't wait six months!
At best you'll loose the tooth.
At worst, blood poisoning, even death.
Talk to your dentist. If he won't take you on
an 'emergency` basis, get some-one else.

~ swish and rinse with salt water solution, that will help draw out the infection. If you cant get in to see your dentist for six months, please go to your regular Dr so he/she can perscribe you an antibiotic, please dont hesitate. Also taking oragel will help with the pain .....
