Today while driving my van I noticed that my speedometer wasn't working. it is stuck under the pin that is located below the 0 mph - what happened and how do I fix it - tried some self diagnostic stuff with the ignition switch and the trip button and nothing worked. Noticed that all the other electronics work and that the van is turned off the dial on the speedometer drops really low in the area on the bottom of the face of the speedo and the trip/odometer is working.

OK, let me see if I can help you on this. These vehicles have a new breed of gauges from the old style. They have a diagnostic mode that should solve the problem. First, with the ignition switch in the lock position, push and hold the trip/reset button . Then turn the key from lock to unlock. After a moment, the gauges should start performing a self check. Let off of the button. The gauges will perform a self test one after another. When it gets to the speedometer, it should flip the hand back around where it belongs.

this is not uncommon, and you don't need to replace any parts, and hte speedometer is not replaceable without the whole cluster anyway. with the key off, hold the trip odometer reset button in, turn the key on, and in a few secondsthe cluster will go into a self test mode. let go of the button. all of the lights will come on, and the gausges will all cycle. if this doesn[t work, go to a dealer, and they can do it manually with the scan tool, it will only take a minute to complete.

Michelle, what it sounds like your problem is a ground or power supply problem. First had a any electrical work been done to the TC prior to your problem, or was a ad on device added to the TC, such as a radio, alarm. If so the wiring should first be checked to make sure it has been wired correctly and no wires are loose or have not been spliced together correctly Hope this helps and good luck

the needle may have come loose on it ,this will happen sometimes, you may have to get a replacement speedometer head for it,if you want it to register right again, that's rare when that happens but it does happen sometimes, you might can take it to a shop, and they maybe can remove it and get it back in position, its worth a try ,good luck with it.
