several years ago I cut the coil springs, I am in love with the stance of the car, but of course the ride is bouncy. I was thinking of air bags, but I would like to know if someone makes an adjustable strutt or some other lowering method for this year model.

when I turn the key to the start position, nothing happens and then when I bring it back a little it bumps, then forward and back it bumps and then sometimes turns over normal, the BRAKE light in the dash comes on. could this be the starter or the ignition box on the column going bad? 75 chevy truck

It has a 350 in it...and it squeals really loud. I took all the belts off and it still does...but it only does it when you punch the gas metal in neutral or park. it's just a real quick, loud squeal...what could it be?

Even if it bolts up (to mtr) what will happen with the engine making 250HP & 280lb/ft torque? Will it tear up in a short amount of time? I do plan to run it with a 2.56 or 2.73 rear end & its in a 88 caddy brougham so it will be a heavy car.

I bought my truck on Jan. 10th. It's a '98 Chevy 1500 4x4 with the 5.7 liter vortec. I love it. When i bought it, it was around 0 degrees F here for a long time. I noticed i was getting around 10 to the gallon and i was kinda pissed about that. But now it has warmed up to around 50-60 degrees fahrenheit, and it's been getting like 15 to the gallon in the city. Why does the temperature affect it so much? This never happened to any of my other cars...?

Anyone have any ideas/tricks on replacing quarter panels? I have a 68 Camaro and 68 Chevelle to replace both rear quarter panels on. The outer wheel houses will also be replaced.

Hey, I have a 98' chevy blazer LT. it was my fathers but i have recentyl aquired it. Jus for info purposes, it is a vortec v6 4.3 liter. 190hp@4400 (stock that is)(o an its automatic also). now i jus went out to a empty street and timed my 0-60 time, i clocked it at 9 seconds. Is that a bad time? I realize that its an older SUV, and i was jus wondering how it compares to some of the newer type cars. And what are (if any) cheap any non-major things i can do to my car to improve it time. thanks.

1966 chevy impala ss with 327 eng and 2 speed powerglide auto trans. Has recently started slipping after it shifts into drive. I've made sure the fluid level is up, replaced the screen and vacuum modulator. I've attempted to adjust the low band - I can make it stick in low, but cannot improve the slipping after it shifts into drive. Also, after it starts to slip, sometimes if you give it enough gas (floor it) it'll go like hell. Is there anything I can do to remedy this while the tranny is still in the car? I'm not a professional mechanic, but have been rebuilding my various old engines for over 40 years now and would like to avoid a top dollar overhaul. As a side note, I also have a TH 350 that I could put in here. Does anybody know if this would bolt straight in without any modifications? Currently get 15/16 mpg with the powerglide and would hate to lose that mpg. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance...
