Top speed on an impala ss is about 140-142 mph. The police caprice model is only capable of that if ordered from the factory with "highway pursuit" v rated tires,if not it was speed limited to 129mph.

about 150. My 95 caprice with the police package was at 140 then traffic got in the way. Same engine package. I know they don't like the warm weather. On a 90 deg. day I could only get it to 120.
