i have 2 12" 1200watt subs, and jus bought a 2 channel 2400watt amp. and im new at this car audio thing, and well ive usef a smaller amp before, never one this big. i was wondering what is the best way to hook up the amp main power supply. should i run it stright to my main battery for my car like i did with my smaller one, or will it drain the car battery too much? or should i get a seperate battery to hook up the amp to it. also if i get the seperate battery, wont it go dead after a few weeks? how should i do this?

please help

I have heard that you have to either bypass something in order to install an aftermarket cd player. Is this true? If so what do I need to bypass?

Hi, I need to know, if I buy a 800W 2-channel amp.

Does that mean I can use 2 400w speakers?
What does the inches have to do with the speakers anyway?

And will a subwoofer maker the stereo system sound better? or it is not neccessary?

Thanx

i have a boss 1600w 4-channle amp boosting my 2 subs, and have all speakers currently in my car hooked up to the factory harnesses on no amplifiers. i plan on adding 2 more speakers, and for these i bought a crappy walmart amp so as to power them just right. i heard if u run 2 different brand amps together you can fry your system. is this true? and if so then tell me how / why this is so. thanks!

i want to know what type of clear "glass" i should mount them with. i basically want a shelf that i can drill holes in, put two speakers in, and have the bottom be hollow so i can slide some neons under it. needs to be clear and very inexpensive, but have no rattle. only wanna add 2 6"s. was thinking about plexiglass or something. thank you!

Car audio system - 2 550 watt amplifiers, 2 10" subs, 2 250 watt 6x9s, 1 .5 farad capacitor, upgraded battery and alternator. After installing the capacitor according to the manufacturer's wiring diagram, I find that the car battery is draining while parked with the system turned off. The amps are powering off, the only apparent cause is the recently added capacitor. After removing the cap from the system, the battery drain appears to have stopped. Is this normal for a capacitor to drain the battery under these conditions, or could it be malfunctioning?

i am having trouble with my 1000 watt subwoffer.i am pushin it with a 550 watt amp.it was working fine but then i was bumpin it with a very very loud song.then the sub would stop and a red warning light that said terminal on the amp came on.my other speaker worked fine with it.i then plugged it up straight from my radio and it would work, but would cut the whole radio off and would come back on and do this continuissly...exactly what happens when you take a possitive and negative speaker wire and put them together

I have a 1980 Corvette. It had blown speakers so I took it to the Mobile Audio in town. The front dash speakers changed out just fine for something comparable. The rear speakers have proven difficult.

Mobile Audio told me that there aren't any companies that make speakers to fit old Corvettes - the magnets are too long. Right now I have the speakers in boxes in the back.

I'm thinking about just taking them out and leaving the rear speakers empty. Someone told me if it is done right, I would really only need the front speakers anyway.

Any thoughts? Where I can get speakers that will fit, or how to run the sound system to utilize just the front two and still get good sound?

I have a Pioneer deck installed, no sub or amp.
