I have heard that you have to either bypass something in order to install an aftermarket cd player. Is this true? If so what do I need to bypass?

Theftlock is a system that is intended to protect the FACTORY radio. You can replace the radio without a problem. The after-market radio will work, and you don't have to do anything special to install it.

You may have difficulties when it's time to put the factory radio back in, if you ever do. Even if the radio is Theftlock equipped, though, it's not always activated; and the newest type is able to identify the vehicle it's installed into and will work automatically if it's put back into the same car.

Shouldn't be a problem, But if you do it yourself make sure you know the codes incase you sell the car. Don't disconnect the battery unless you are willing to have the stereo lock.
