i have a boss 1600w 4-channle amp boosting my 2 subs, and have all speakers currently in my car hooked up to the factory harnesses on no amplifiers. i plan on adding 2 more speakers, and for these i bought a crappy walmart amp so as to power them just right. i heard if u run 2 different brand amps together you can fry your system. is this true? and if so then tell me how / why this is so. thanks!

I have had several systems in different cars. I have rarely used the same brand amps or even matching brand speakers(highs and lows) as far as systems go. Certain brands make good high power amps and some make good smaller amps. The same goes for speakers. The trick is to get the system set up correctly. The smaller amp will need smaller gage(bigger number) wire and as well as the speaker cables. Remember as well a good investment is a crossover to keep the high tones with the higher range speakers and the lower tones with the subs. This will prevent sound spikes that could damage your speakers. Remember as well to have a good ground and enough power to push all of your amps and speakers. A second battery or a power cap usually 1 farad per 1000 watts of power. As long as your installation and wiring is good you will be just fine.

There are 2 ideas you should flow with. Run a line out the soundness Line out into the amp or in case you'll use a huge sufficient PA and opt to run your amp's Balanced Line Out out to that you'll run a line out of the Preamp Out and regulate the EQ and volume out accordingly. you are able to opt to provide the BA 112 on your drummer as a video demonstrate so that you and him can lock in a touch more advantageous powerful. the proper and cab you're utilizing has more advantageous than sufficient ability for the gig (2 hundred watts @ 8ohms, 350 watts @ 4 ohms) and in case you stand some distance sufficient faraway from the amp you'll listen it more advantageous powerful. It takes bass waves more advantageous distance to disperse so that you'll definitely listen your self more advantageous powerful 10-12 feet away as adverse to being proper on proper of your amp. you should upload yet another 8 ohm cab like a 15" on your rig to get the completed ability out of your amp yet do no longer flow below the minimum impedance score of your amp or you'll damage the amp and/or audio equipment. 2, 8 ohm cabs = 4 ohms 2, 4 ohm cabs = 2 ohms

as long as your wire everything up correctly (by crutchfieldadvior or your user manual) there shouldn't be a problem. haveing two amps of the same brand or two brand name amps shouldn't be a problem at all as long as you follow the rules with installing and wiring. o ya and also make sure that you have wiring and a battery cap that is good enough for both of the amps, not just one

no running different brand amps wont mess up your system unless you are wiring it up wrong.get a set of distribution blocks 1 for your ground and 1 for the positive and you'll be fine
