if im installing a subwoofer to provide the bass would i need 2 way or 3 way speakers for the voice? which is better?

why my lights are dimming everytime the bass goes off. I have a 1/2 fared capaciter, do i need a full cap? Any suggestions or professional knowhow would be greatly appreciated. I had my altinator checked out and was told its fine, so what i need to do is beyond me! Thanks in advance!

two ohm load. I have my subs wired to 2.67 load and im wonderin how to hook this wiring to the amp. Does it automatically adjust its self or is there a way to bridge it. The channels go ++-- without a diagram showing which way is to bridge.

Since they say that Kicker amps are underrated how much rms wattage does my Kicker Zx750.1 amp actually put out. One birth sheet says 930 watts the other 931. Since it says 750 watts @ 2 ohms, how much actual rms wattage am i actually getting about?

Just installed and Alpine stereo and all is functioning good except when I try a CD or Ipod playback i get no sound. The tuner sounds great though. ANy help??

im wondering if it would harm the amp if i hooked up 2 800w sony xplod speakers to a 1600w mono amp. have any of you experimentd with this. the amo only operates at full wattage at 2 ohms so if i hook up 2, 4 ohm speakers to the amp it should drop the amp to 2 ohms. so how could it hurt it?

just got a new amp and sub. the amp has power (red light flashing with the sound of music) no power to speaker, i connected the remote wire from the amp to where the remote wire from car and stereo meet. is this wrong or is there another problem?

i have 6 kicker l7 12 subs and now i need 3 amps i was thinking of going with 3 kicker amps there like 480 a peace but to cut cost i was thinking of going with hifonics amps there 300 a peace and it has more watts my question is y is the amp so cheap everyone is saying its as good as kicker witch i dont think it is and if it is y is it at cheap stores like anderson's a hardwere store that carries trash audioi jast wanna no what u think i just don't want to buy it and its trash CUZZ U GET WHAT U PAY FOR?

It is a regular cab w/little room behind the seat. Do not want to use the seat or floorboard for a huge sub.

i have a 2002 cavalier and just put aftermarket stereo in, the factory one that was in it shut off too, the same way, i did lose the door chimes, everything else seems fine, but what is making the radio shut off all of a sudden, when im driving, and how do i fix it?? PLEASE HELP!!!

I am reletively new to car audio and I was just wondering what the difference between SQ and SPL was. I am looking for some subs to put in my Grand Am that provide some serious glass breaking bass, but still sound good while doing it. ok so i only have a jl 300/4(75x4rms) and an infinty basslink(200rms) and i can't tell which is causing the dimming. when i disconnect the basslink i still get dimming, when i disconnect the jl i still get the dimming, BUT!!! it dims slightly when at idle and it doesn't when i'm driving. since this is a very small dim i think a cap would do, but where do i put the cap? before the jl or before the basslink, since they both cause the dimming? or would an optima battery take care of it? or an higher output alt? if the alt, where can i get one for my '06 Nissan Xterra. I've looked but have not found any.

Is this a good deal? I found reviews on the subs and people said for the money they were good, and the amp i couldn't find much review on it. Is this hard to install myself?

and does increased wattage really make a difference? I'm not one of those who drives with the bass pumpin' but I like seperation between the highs and lows. Any advice would be great.

So one day im listening to music with my indash reciever with cd player by kenwood. I park my car, when i come back to my car, its not working anymore. The Eject button works, but nothing comes up on the screen for it to work anymore. Does anyone have any idea on what the hell happened? I know its not the recier because i went to best buy and bought a new one and it was the same problem, nothing appears on the screen, like it cant turn on, but the eject button works.

I have two kicker CVR Subwoofer that are twelve inches. They have two ohms and that drains the amp to much. I want a diagram that display the rewiring to bring the ohms to 4 to 8 ohms. The ohms right now are 2.

My power wire is hot, my radio works, my ground is fine, and my fusues are replaced. Are they're any steps that I'm missing in checking out what the problem is to why my amp isn't working? My amplifier is an Autotek MX 1500.1 and is wired to four Audiofonic twelves (DVC; ADF-272's).

Car: '97, 4dr Geo Tracker, Head: JVC KDG430, Dash speakers: 4" Infinity Reference.

Is there any benefit to putting 6" Kicker, Polk, Oz Audio, Sony, etc. in the rear to replace the factory speakers? Is there a benefit to sticking with Infinity Reference for the rear?

An amp & sub are NOT options since I park on the street, and don't want to tempt thieves with the sight of a sub in my cargo space. So, the rear speakers are my chance to do something special.

I mainly listen to 70s funk, and Caribbean music. So, clean, rich bass is important. Throbbing bass isn't necessary. I actually have enough bass right now, but the rear speakers are struggling.

I was wondering if there was any car sterio amps. that could be hooked up to a home theater system? The reason why I'm askin' is cause I've been searchin' on the net for the past couple of weeks tryin' to find an amp made for a home theater system and all I've found wern't quit in the amp range I wanted. They were mostly around 200-300 watts range. I wanna get a car amp(s) cause I know that theres some that can kick out 600+ watts easy. I'm planning on hookin' up big speakers to my system and wanna get the most bang that I can out of 'em with usin' amps. Any help would be great.

I do not know anything about cars, except that i drive one! I want to get a car stereo put into my vehicle( 2004 alero) so that i can play my ipod in my car. Ive looked on ebay, searched the web, but nothing is better than word of mouth.

I would like to know what all i need to get ( or order)
How do i know the new stereo will fit in my stereo spot? What is the cheapest way of going about doing this without getting taken advantage of? I would LOVE to get bluetooth installed, BUT i am just a college student on a tight budget. Eventually i want to get these things done though! Guys, tell me your advice, and secrets to save money!
