I was wondering if there was any car sterio amps. that could be hooked up to a home theater system? The reason why I'm askin' is cause I've been searchin' on the net for the past couple of weeks tryin' to find an amp made for a home theater system and all I've found wern't quit in the amp range I wanted. They were mostly around 200-300 watts range. I wanna get a car amp(s) cause I know that theres some that can kick out 600+ watts easy. I'm planning on hookin' up big speakers to my system and wanna get the most bang that I can out of 'em with usin' amps. Any help would be great.

NO BECAUSE AUTO AMPS WORK ON DC NOT AC HOUSE CURRENT AND TO GET IT TO WORK YOU NEED A POWER INVERTOR AND THERES YOUR PROBLEM THEY WILL PRODUCE A HZ HUMM AND AND IT WILL KILL YOUR QUALITY OF SOUND

You can get a 500wrms, 1000 watt peak plate amp from www.partsexpress.com for about $250. These amps can go down to 4Ohms, so using car speakers is no problem. Also, you can use a car battery charger to power car amps. I had an amp with 30 max amp rating hooked to a 6 max amp car battery charger. It shook the house and was louder than in the car (has to do with more air space). Just be careful with your connections if this is something you still insist on doing.

yes you can use a car amp in the house the same way you hook it up in a carbut dont forget to ground it out on somthing and if your going for lots of noise you might want to get a 1200 to 1500 just to be on the safe side

Go to Partsexpress.com

Look under Audio amplifiers...Pro sound... and look at Crown or QSC. They will have more power than you can handle for a home theater system.

Trying to use mobile audio in the home is more trouble than it's worth. They are designed for 12 V dc. trying to get power supplies in the range you need for the current required is very, very expensive.

i have done this before, but you cant mix your car amp with your home equipment, they are different volts. justuse all of your car stuff inside. you can run it off of a 12 volt power supply, even a home battery charger will run it ,thenhook up any home speakers to it.just becareful of the ohm load, home speakers are 8 ohm and car stereo is 4 ohm but you can hook up your home speakers to equal 4 ohms go to THE 12 VOLT.com and type in how to hook up 8 ohm speakers to carry a 4 ohm load that site will tell you anything you need to know
