Going to a dealer auction with a dealer looking to score a 2006 lincoln under 40k miles ( factory warranty implies 4yr/50k warranty) -- is the factory warranty still valid if purchased through an auction ?

Used car dealers in the NY-metro area charge a "fee" so non-dealers looking to pay dealer prices can accompany them to dealer only auctions. I'm a non-dealer that is looking to buy a car and am wondering if there is any protection on investment.

i bought on ebay a 2000 mitsubishi shogun di-d for £7500 (a good price i thought).on the way home (200 mile journey) the thing broke down 12 times with a fuel problem .it will cost £4000 to fix and the air con had been removed and will cost £2000 . i stopped the £5000 cheque i gave the seller as he didn't mention either of these problems ( i now know he knew)but he has got £2,500 of my money . he also advertised other things it didn't have . i'm prepared to keep the car and use his £5000 +£1000 more of mine to save any more hassle. how do i stand legally ?

So I have this car I currently lease. It's coming off lease in two months so I decided to sell it to get away from the $350 returning fee and maybe make a buck or two. The leasing company (BMW) tells me they can only title the car to me after I pay off the car. But that would make me have to pay sales tax and in turn (as I transfer the title to the new owner) make HIM pay sales tax again. I obviously don't want to have to pay for sales tax ... any ways around this?

I'm in Indiana, 6% sales tax by the way. I already researched their BMV site. Useless, as always. Don't open Mondays. Guy has the money in hand...

Hey guys,

Im currently looking at getting a used car (Acura TL)
Currently, a Acura near my place has one with a accident claim of 5,000 dollars (Canadian)

Whats the deal with buying cars with accident history?

They said the 5,000 was - front bumper, headlights, and paintjob and there was nothing to worry about

Im still weary.. Im going to get my mechanic to take a look at it first, but wanted to get some advice before i waste my time

I am shopping for a new car and I am seriously considering a Honda Civic SI Sedan. I love the fact that it is a powerful compact car but I only have one problem is the price really that low? I was wondering what others have paid for this car and how available it actually is, I know the msrp is $21,260 but is this the price I should expect to pay?

My ex and I split up last year and I am overseas. I don't need a car while I am here so we agreed that he would buy my car from me for $1,200. He agreed to pay each month $200 from his GI Bill. He has not kept up with any payments, and now 7 months later he has only paid $800 towards the car.

He agreed to have insurance on the car, and I cancelled mine since I was not driving. He was supposed to get his own full coverage insurance and told me he did.

2 weeks ago I emailed him because he had not made a payment and was more than a month past the date he had promised to make a $300 payment on the car. At that time he let me know he wrecked the car by crashing into a tree.

He has no insurance, the registration in my name has expired, and he now refuses to make any more payments on the car unless I sign the title over to him.

What can I do? Can I file a stolen vehicle report since he was not paying in agreement? Or negligence or what?

(In Malaysia) My car currently have a left over hire purchase amount of RM60000, and i wanted to sell it off for around RM70000(Price is not the issue). The problem is that i'll be leaving this country in a year or two, and the commitment of paying for this car's installment of RM1000 per month is a heavy burden for me, because i want to save money to come to Australia to work and stay here. So there's three options that i can choose before i left Malaysia in a year or two, first option is not to sell off the car until i'm about to left my country. Second option is buy a cheaper new car with bank loan(around rm700 per month). Third option is to buy a second-hand car with bank loan(around rm300 per month). Which options will allow me to save the most, given the fact that i'll have to sell off the car when i leave.

We are consitering buying a flex fuel vehicle when we trade in my mini van. I drive about 240 miles every weekend for visitation and I need something big enough for my family but also that gets good mileage. We are thinking about a ford taurus wagon. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? We are looking for a used and not new vehicle. Maybe a 2000 or 2001 model. I don't want another van.
