Will a dealership take a car that you own but don't have insurance on? There is a Bonneville I can buy that is in decent shape, and I can buy it for next to nothing. I want to a buy a 2008 1 Ton truck, this fall. And think I could knock some of the price down with a vechile to put towards trade in. I wouldn't be driving this Bonneville anywhere besides the dealership and back. I'm wondering if they could take that car even though there is no insurance on it. And any other advice as far as buying a 2008 this fall.

I bought a car a couple months ago, but I've decided I want to go for another car. My friend will take it off my hands for a couple hundred less than what I bought it for. For this sale, will I have to claim income tax? Other than changing the title and accepting my friend's money, are there any other considerations I should be aware of?

This car is still being financed. Is it legal to sell if the financers still have the title? How does that work out, Carmax will finish paying off the loan? I believe it's paid off more than it is worth. Please help ; )

Problem: I want to buy a car, but I don't have the money to pay for it up front. Now I understand I have to get a loan; what I don't understand are the details.

Let's say I get a loan from the dealer. In that case I want to make a large down payment, which is well over my credit card limit. Now my question is, how do I actually transfer that money? I'd think cashier's check, but I don't know how much it is or who I'm paying it to until I negotiate the deal. So what do I do? Is there any way I can arrange it without having to go back and forth between the bank and the dealer?

If I get the loan from an external source, same issues: How do I know how much I need? Do I get the loan first or do the negotiation first? And afterwards how do I transfer the money to the dealer?

Any wisdom you can provide is much appreciated.

I currently have a used vehilcle that I have had for 1 year. I have four years remaining on the car loan. I think that the car has been in an accident and I fear that I will have future problems with this vehicle. Does it make sense for me to to trade my current vehicle in for a leased vehicle? What are the pros and cons of doing this type of transaction.

I have 4-6k to spend on a car, although I appreciate this will be secondhand, I need something which is economical, similar to the yaris 5-dr 1.4 which is a little higher up than other cars due to a bad back :o(

But I don't want anything which will loose it's value to quickly

I know this is a lot to ask someone but I'm at a loose end!

Any suggestions?

What are the pros and cons of leasing a car. I don't know too much about leasing a car. I only know that you have to stay with in a certain mileage criteria and that the payments are supposed to be less. Can someone tell me more about leasing a car. I don't know much at all

Lately, I've seen dealers advertising that you can buy a brand new car for $88 down and $88 a month and another ad for $57 and $79 a month. Is there a catch to this? I think it would be great to have low payments like that, but I'm a bit skeptical. I heard you can do 72 months which is a bit long, but again the price is so low. Can someone explain this process to me?

I'm in serious trouble!!! and i dont know what to do! I got this 2006 pontiac g6, BEAUTIFUL car, i love it but i cant afford it, which sucks so bad. I went to this place where they dont check your credit and its a type of place that they will do absolutely anything to get you into a car, even tho they KNOW you cant afford it. Well i dont have great credit, its still building but the car is placed in my name and my fathers name. the financial place charges me a VERY high interest rate that its crazy. I've only had the car for 4 months now and it turns out my father lost his job and my job wont cover the payment of the car. Does anyone know what should i do?? i do not want a repo on my record! my credit will be screwed and i have been working so hard at building it up to be good! I owe $17,000 more for the car and i dont have good credit to get a loan, someone please help me if you know what i should do! can i go to a car dealer and do something with it? anything! PLEASE HELP ME!!
