if it did, it is fairly likely to have been given to you, when you bought it.
if it is less than 3 years old it does not need one.

contact dvla and ask them
i know i tax my car on line and theres a part on there were you can put any registration and it tells tou if they got insurance etc and i also think it says about the ....m o t .
also they other a vic but you pay for that i thinkits arround 35 to 40 pounds this is were they identify the car
best bet is to try the site or give them a call
other thing you can do is check the cars log book and if person not had it long look at previous owner address and contact them and ask questions..

If no certificate is available, and you know where the last MOT was done, that garage can check for you in seconds. The VOSA (known as the Ministry in the trade) has computerised all the MOT to try and stamp out dodgy ones. A quck search of their database should provide you with your answer.
Or just wait until the police stop you as they check as you drive by.

yes you can check if it as the new style mot certificate, just ring VOSA and give them the reg number and VIN number of the vehicle and they will tell you if it has any mot and were it was mot'd,

If you use the site quoted above I think you need to give the serial number of the registration document to "prove"you have a legitimate reason for asking.
