Hi guys!
My husband and I are getting ready to purchase a used car (possibly 2). I had a few questions maybe you all could help me with:

1) In all reality, how much can you haggle the price down on a used car? Lets say a car is $17,000.00 and I'd like it to be haggled down to about $14,000.00. Do you think this is possible??

2) Give me some of your best haggling tips when buying a used car---what are some good things to say/do to get the price down and have it on the road with tax, tags and title when all is said and done.

Any other advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help!! :)

My wife and I both have company cars which are very limited for our personal use. So we need another vehicle for our personal use and we thought a lease would be a good option for us. However, upon talking with a dealer about a lease, we were confuzed as to why there is not much difference in the lease payment vs. the purchase payment. I always thought lease payments would be about 1/2 of a purchase payment. Is the dealer looking to make a huge profit, or am I just not that familiar with leases and would other financial institutions have a better lease deals?

They should make cars and truck frames from alloys instead of steel, it would reduce the weight of the vechicles drastically. You would get way better gas mileage and better performace. It can't be because of the cost. How expensive is a can soda or beer? It's aluminum! Could it have anything to do with their contracts with the Steal Unions?
