what year or what generation Civic and Sentra?
The pre-Carlos Ghosn Nissan days (i believe before 2001), had some very reliable Nissan's. It was just no one noticed Nissan for some reason. I think because they looked ugly, versus today's Nissan and Infiniti body styles.
And a Civic is reliable, but the insurance will be more expensive than an Accord. The reason why is because too many young people own them and mod them. My rule of thumb is if I see too many young people driving the car, especially modifying them, the insurance will be high. More reasons why I got myself a TL instead of a TSX.

Much higher resale value on the Civic and assuming you are speaking about the base Sentra, a more powerful engine.

I'd rather get the Nissan. But I think the Ford Focus and The Mazda 3 are better.
