Last Monday night someone ran into my grandma's car, smashed it into her new car and drove through her garage. They left the scene. The neighbors report seeing a damaged SUV leaving the scene shortly after hearing the crash but could not tell the type due to a high rate of speed. They left part of their car behind though, the left front wheel well liner. I have found the same type of liner on a Ford F150 V8 Triton... this is a truck, not an SUV though and the distance between the wheels is too far apart. The vehicle that hit is an SUV, has the same wheel well liner as an F150 (it is a large Ford vehicle, an early 21st century model, newer wheel well liners are different.) the distance between the outside of the tires is 75 inches. Can anyone tell me what vehicle did this? I would really appreciate the help since they caused many thousands of dollars worth of damage, Thanks.

The car has a history of having electrical problems. The car doors not do not properly lock or unlock upon initiation (some doors need to be unlocked by hand). Sometimes the car is able to turn over after about 7 tries with the ignition.

Took it for vehicle inspection a couple days ago and it passed.

Took it to the dealership yesterday when it stalled on me and the dealer said it was my fault ("you got to push hard and put it in 'Park'") when it automatically worked for him. I put the vehicle in park and I push the key into the ignition hard and the same thing STILL KEEPS HAPPENING!

What could it be?

my coolant reservoir was empty ,and I thought i was hearing knowcking from the engine ,so I took the car to firestone and , told them the synptoms , they suggested a perssure check , dun know what that means , so after the diagnosis was done , they came up with the following results ,
1) the sytem pressure was 20 Psi
2) no leaks found
3) temp guage below half
4) oil dipstick has dark brown color
5) no white smoke on the engine start
6) heard no knocks in the engine.
7) they found moisture on the oil cap
the firestone people did not know how to deal with this ?
so they toped off the coolant in the reservoir and the radiator
but told me to keep an eye on the level in the reservoir. now what I am afraid is if there is a leak internally ,its going to damage the engine ,so i dont know what to do ?
how can a coolant resevoir be empty if they found no leaks
my car is at 137 k and ran fine until i thought i heard knocking sound , but i guess it isnt knocking but stallin

Hello.

My ac starts up but 3 seconds later stops. Then, 3 seconds after its stopped, a click under the hood can be heard, and the ac kicks in again, only to shut off in 3 seconds. Repeat.

I looked under the hood and found the source of the click. Please reference the image below. I took a couple of pictures.

There is this disk that when the ac starts, will begin to spin. Its the rusty color disk pointed out in the image. The air is cool when it spins. But went it stops with a click, the air stops its coolness.

Someone mentioned that i might be my thermostat. Does that sound right? What is this part? Solutions? Thank you!

I was adding something to my engine oil to stop a small leak that I have. It had one of those little foil safety covers over the spout and while pouring it in, about 1/2 to 3/4 of the foil part fell into the oil. Will this pose a problem.
The car is a 2000 Mercury Cougar, not that it really matters.

For example, Delta's planes seem to always have numbers ending with DL or DA. United numbers end with UA. Continental planes seems to have only a number.

so i park my car at the curb when i get home. my neighbor's motorcycle was behind my car. i backed out and i accidentally didnt see it and nudged it down. so i went outside and the owner's mom helped me pick it back up. there was no major damage to the motorcycle just aesthetic stuff. the worse damage i did was to its headlights. it completely shattered and broke off. i told his mom that i was willing to pay for the damage and that i was sorry. so i was wondering how much the tail light will cost me? oh yea its a pretty nice honda... if that helps any.

I just learned that California law allows me to make a 'free-right' turn, that is yield instead of coming to a complete stop in permissible intersections. I did just that a few months ago and recieved a ticket for not coming to a complete stop. I've just recently read an article about this 'free-right' turn here...

http://www.mercurynews.com/ci_6677141?nclick_check=1

It's already been months passed since my ticket. Do I have a case for fighting this in court still?

What I mean is... when the officer pulls you over and says "license and registration"... what documents, exactly, does he need? Driver's license and insurance card, duh. But does he need to see my title for my car? my paperwork from when i licensed my car? I'm just figuring out what to keep with me and what I can keep in my files in my house... because I don't actually want to keep any more personal files in my car than I have to. Thanks.

I drive an awful lot (some days close to 400 miles.) So I want an SUV that is comfortable and capable off road because sometimes we have to drive through 12" of snow and off-road to get to our cabin. Decent gas mileage is nice too. I have about $30,000 to spend. I was thinking maybe like An '06 grand cherokee, an '05 Land Rover LR3, a Volkswagen Touareg, or something like that. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

I have been having a problem as far as controlling my car's steering. The steering feels really loose and like I don't have the control I once had, especially on roads that don't have a perfectly flat surface. It used to be nice and tight. I doubt it's the alignment because it doesn't pull to either side. Any suggestions on a diagnosis?

A little background:
My car is a 2005 Scion TC with approximately 40k miles on it and no extensive reapirs have ever been done to it aside from general maintenance. It needs new front and back brake pads and new fron ttires, both of which I am getting this weekend.

Finally, we are going to begin looking at SUV's. I told my husband my top 4 cars: Ford Escape Hybrid, Mercury Mariner Hybrid, Suburu Tribeca, and Saturn Outlook. Also of course in the running - Toyota RAV4/Highlander (reg and hybrid), Ford Taurus X/Freestyle, and others. So my question - after reviewing all the reviews for regular Ford Escape vs Escape Hybrid - any negatives to getting the Hybrid? (Hopefully Ethol sees this and she has really helped in the past...but others too!)

Its a hard decision I know. But, I am kind of on the fence about it. Since both of these happen to be just about everyday. I get stuck behind someone with no use for a turn signal or simply puts it on and keeps it on. :)

Sorry for being such a noob, but im trying to figure out a configuration for my car. I want to run 4 120 watt speakers and a sub. Does this mean I need 1 4 channel amp and a 1 channel amp for the sub or is there an easier way. Please send your best configurations.

What are they like to drive in and would you recommend buying one ?

And people who have been in one, but not driven it, how was the ride and space?

Getting married in a couple of months. With babies coming shortly thereafter, I am thinking of selling my car and getting a used 4 cylinder in the $10,000 to $12,000 range. I owe about 5,000 less on loan than I could get wholesale.

94 Celica GT, Fuel Injected, Man Trans

I have 6+/- sensors that are not receiving the correct voltage. Per specs, with the ignition on most sensors are supposed to receive 9-14 Volts while some are supposed to receive 3-5 Volts. However, the sensors I am reffering to are all receiving millivolts (less than .1 Volt). Some of the sensors include:

-EGR VSV
-ISCV
-TPS
-MAP
-Terminals T1 and T2 of the check connector

All other sensors outside of these few are receiving the correct voltage. Also, the computer (ECM) is brand new. If you have experienced this before, please advise where to begin. I have been to the Toyota dealership twice to no avail as well as two individual mechanics. Any help or starting place that you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

In California, during the first year of your license, if you are in a accident with a passenger under the age of 25 (not permitted by law) is the accident automatically your fault even if the accident was obviously caused by the other person? Like if you got rear ended?
