If you want to go with long term cost efficiency and generally a good car, get the accord. However, these seem to be two very different types of cars. A charger isn't really something you buy for fuel economy, resale value, quality. It is more of a style and power type car. If you are into that thing, get the charger or the accord will be a disappointment. By the way, Accord is redesigned for 2008, so that might not be cool if you buy an 07, and next month your friend gets an 08 that looks/is much nicer.
If interested in cost, check out JD power and associates 5 year cost of ownership, I believe it is easiest to find it on edmunds.com

They are both fancy cars, but i speak the truth unlike others and i will tell you that both cars have their advantages and disadvantages. With the honda, you will be getting better comfort-ability, more reliability, and a little better gas mil age. With the dodge, you will be getting more power, but you may encounter transmission problems around one hundred and sixty thousand miles. How do i know this, my uncle has a 2007 dodge charger and my preacher has a 2006, and both transmissions failed around the same time. one of my Friends at school has a 2008 charger and it stays in the shop like crazy. Im stuck taking him home every day. To make my story short, if you plan to keep either one of these cars for a long time, get the honda, it will give you less trouble, believe me. My 04 dodge neon is already experiencing transmission slippage and it only has ninety thousand miles on it. My cousins 2001 honda accord has two hundred and twenty thousand miles on it and he has not had any work done to it, except occasional oil changes. For the record, this guy i know owns a shop and he says that people with dodges, Subaru's, Buick's, Kia's, and Chevy's are his main customers. So, keep what i say in mind, im telling you whats best.

Many mention that if you want fuel economy and resale value buy the Honda and for shear power and fun, buy the Charger. It is worth noting that the low end Charger (comprably priced to the Accord) is actually gutless in my opinion and the Accord is much quicker and lighter. It is only when you dish out the "big bucks" for the Hemi 5.6L or 6.1L that you will smile every time you hit the gas. The Charger with the V-8 is classic muscle car, but eats gas like crazy and quite frankly is not nearly as refined as the Accord. The Accord, though, is more of a family car unless you're looking at the coupe, and then the amount of room within each car is dramatically different.
If you want pure power, go with the Charger and be prepared to own it for a while or you will have a lot of inequity. If you want a quick car that's practical and not nearly as aggressive in styling, the Accord is a great choice. I've owned 3 Accords and all have been great cars and Honda always provided excellent service.

the accord will be cheaper in gas, but smaller in room. The charger (v6 or v8?) may be about the same in gas if its the v6 version, and more roomy. The front wheel drive of hte honda is betterin snow, but for most driving the rearwheel drive of the charger is nice to have. The dodge is cheaper to fix, but the honda does last longer if taken care of. My overall choice is a dodge charger. Good luck

Get a charger with the Hemi - R/T form. It will be a great car. Hondas are overrated.

Your difference in the two vehicles is very confusing. They are not similar by any means. I have been a proud Honda owner for 10 years now! I will never own another vehicle!! The pros of this car a unlimited!! With the economy the way it is going you can not beat this vehicle: great gas mileage, best resale value in its class, reliabilty, affordable, low insurance, etc. They now have the new hybrid accord as well!!!
Dodge can not offer any of those qualities!

that ALL depends on what you want out of the car.
Accord- Better gas mileage, hold resale value MUCH better, sporty car, more affordable
Charger- Very powerful HEMI, fun to drive, lifetime powertrain warranty (badax!!), less fuel effecient, ,more expensive (depending on options/how equipped)
I'd go with the charger.
