I'm thinking about buying a K&N filter for my 1995 escort (1.9 liter). K&N claims that their filters improve performance and gas mileage. I also know that they can be washed and reused many times. If you use one of these filters, please tell me about your experiences with them.

When an airliner lands which is the primary funtion of the spoilers, to dump lift or airbraking or both.

Is that the reason why they are called spoilers?

Is the air braking effect just an added result of their position in the airflow.

I have a 92 Pontiac Firebird, and yesterday after it sat, parked for almost 2 hours, I started it, it ran for a second or two, then it died. I tried to restart it, and there was nothing, not even the sound of it trying to start. I had lost all power. I tried several times to restart it, but still nothing. I called Triple A,and the guy tried everything, he checked the battery, it had a full charge.
( the battery was brand new) I had also just gotten this car out of the shop the day before, and brakes and an oil leak were fixed, spent lots and lots of money!) The Triple A mechanic said something about it possibly being a "main fuse"..and said he didn't think he should put one in, as it could do some harm if that wasn't the problem, We agreed that it had to be towed, so I waited for the tow truck. Shortly after the Triple A mechanic left, ( and before the tow truck came, ) I tried to start it, and it started. i drove home with the car. It has started several times since,

Lots of people have helped me before and i have decided to take my bike into the garage.
the problems have been backfiring, lack of performance, and only getting 80mph, in 4th gear all the timeand throttal allways at fullest after 4th gear.

1st thing the mechanic said was that my bike was not running on all cylinders. He said xj's are a bit blug blug (engine noise) but he could hear the engine did not sound right.

what could this meen. they are starting on it on Sunday, but at £40 an hour i wondered if anyone could tell me what he meant by not firing on all cylinders.

What can I do to lower insurance? And what kind of coverage do I need to get? They ask 20/25 or 50/100 and so on. I have no idea of what that means. My quotes have been 4000 and higher for a 6 month period. I am in college. I don't have that kind of money. I live in New York City (if that helps). If anyone can give e any tips, it would be greatly appreciated. The cars I am lookint at are the 2005 nissan altima, 2005 honda accord or civic sedans, and the 2007 toyota camry. thanks

if they burn-out short we may face with shunt alternator with battery and within some seconds when engine is not running we face with complete burn-out of alternator as well as charging connector.
